Alien Turkeys run Thanksgiving in Turkey Day from Source Point Press

Prepare for a Thanksgiving themed lesson in hubris and alien violence. Turkey Day is the newest one-shot from the mind of horror/comedy maestro David C. Hayes, available online and in comic shops Wednesday, November 17.

Turkey Day is written by Brian Dunphy and Dan Gorman based on a story by Hayes. Dunphy and Gorman are also the artist and colorist on the book respectively, with cover art by Dunphy and James Couts.

Turkey Day takes place in the town of Pilgrim Point, IL. Much like the rest of the Midwest, Pilgrim Point is conservative and blind to history. The local history teacher tries to inject some real information into the yearly Thanksgiving pageant, but he is rebuffed and the town continues to perpetuate the myth that the pilgrims weren’t awful invaders.

When parasitic aliens take over the turkeys of a corporate farm and march on the pageant, the townsfolk believe them to be benevolent visitors (’cause of the lie they keep telling themselves… get it?). The history teacher knows the truth, but no one cares.

Get Spaced Out with Source Point Press

There’s a gap in satire comics and Source Point Press intends to fill it, flashing back to the days of early MAD and Marvel’s Not Brand Echh! Something you can really have fun with while still being intelligent!

The first issue of Spaced Out is available for pre-order now and will be in shops on March 31, 2021. For the opening salvo, Lou Mougin, Brian Dunphy, and James Couts offer up Enemy Ass (the funny-animal ace of World War 1), Prisonerd (a takeoff on the famous cult TV show of the 60’s), and Sgt. Crock (a satirical take on guess who?). It’s time for satire that doesn’t try to convert you politically (frankly, we wouldn’t even know how!) but whonks you entertainingly!

Spaced Out uses 60s popular culture as a launching point and springs wildly in every direction.
