In collaboration with Disney and PixarPapercutz has announced a Spanish-language edition of The New Adventures of Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2: Big Feelings (Spanish Edition), expanding the emotional world of the hit film for even more young readers and families.

Deadpool & Wolverine takes the weekend box office and becomes the top grossing R-rated film domestically

It was no surprise that Deadpool & Wolverine was again the top film at the weekend box office. The movie grossed an estimated $97 million dropping 54.1% from the previous weekend. It has grossed $395.6 million domestically after two weeks. Internationally, the movie added $195.2 million over the week to bring that total to $428.5 million bringing its worldwide gross to $824.1 million. It’s now the highest grossing R-rated film domestically beating The Passion of the Christ though has a bit to go to topple Oppenheimer and Joker from the top two spots worldwide.

Twisters held on to second place adding $22.7 million to its domestic total which is now $195.6 million. Internationally, it grossed $12.5 million to bring that total to $78.8 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $274.4 million after three weeks.

Trap debuted in third place with $15.6 million domestically and $4.4 internationally for a worldwide debut of $20 million.

Despicable Me 4 slipped one spot to fourth place with $11.3 million to bring its domestic total to just under $314 million. Over the week, it grossed $51.6 million internationally to bring that total to $438.3 million for a worldwide total of $752.2 million.

Inside Out 2 rounded out the top five with an estimated $6.7 million to bring its domestic total to $626.9 million. Internationally, it added about $36 million to its total to lift that to $928.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.555 billion.

Blue Lock: Episode Nagi remained at about $1.9 million domestically and $11.5 million internationally for a worldwide total of $13.3 million.

Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle gained a little domestically and is now just under $7.1 million. Internationally it remained just under $86.1 million for a worldwide gross of just over $93.1 million.

The week’s overall box office success…

Numbers have 55 films earning $170,3287,532 from 28,369 theaters. That’s an expected hard drop from the previous weekend’s $284,848,585 from 25,075 theaters and 62 films. The average earning was $6,002.59 which is an expected drop from the previous weekend’s $11,359.86.

Deadpool & Wolverine dominates the weekend box office shattering records

As expected, Deadpool & Wolverine ruled the weekend shattering records and beating the projected gross. The film opened domestically with $205 million. That’s the eighth best debut ever and the biggest opening for an R-rated film ever. The original Deadpool held that record with $132 million. In addition, the movie grossed $233.3 million at the international box office for $438.3 million globally. The movie was projected to open with $350 million to $390 million globally. It’s already the fourth highest grossing film domestically this year and sixth worldwide. Deadpool went on to gross $782.8 million worldwide in 2016 while Deadpool 2 grossed $785.9 million worldwide in 2018. This film is well over halfway there after the opening weekend and marks a further return to form for Disney who has a smash hit with Inside Out 2.

Twisters fell to second place in its second weekend with $35.3 million domestically to bring that to $154.9 million. Over the week, it added $23.6 million internationally to bring that to $66.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $221.2 million after two weeks.

Despicable Me 4 came in third with an estimated $14.2 million. Domestically, the movie has grossed just under $291 million. Over the week, it grossed $71.7 million internationally to lift that to $386.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $677.7 million worldwide.

In fourth place was Inside Out 2 which added $8.3 million domestically to its record shattering total. The movie has grossed $613.4 million. Internationally, it grossed $45.3 million over the week to bring that to $892.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.506 billion, making it the highest grossing film domestically and worldwide this year so far.

Longlegs rounded out the top five with $6.8 million to bring its domestic total to $58.6 million. Over the week, it grossed $5.4 million internationally to bring that to $8.2 million and $66.8 million worldwide.

Blue Lock: Episode Nagi added about$50,000 domestically which is now $1.9 million and internationally it added about $200,000 over the week to bring that gross to just under $11.5 million internationally for a worldwide total of $13.3 million.

Twisters blows its way into first place at the weekend box office

Twisters was at the top of the box office this past weekend. The film grossed an estimated $80.5 million domestically and $42.7 million internationally for a worldwide debut of $123.2 million.

The semi-sequel opened in a similar amount to the original Twister in 1996. That movie opened with a about $41.1 million in 1996 which is about $82.2 million in today’s dollars. That movie went on to gross $241.8 million domestically in the dollars of that day (about $484.2 million in today’s dollars) and $494.6 million worldwide.

In second place was Despicable Me 4 which slipped one spot from the previous weekend. The movie grossed $23.8 million to bring its domestic total to $259.5 million. Over the week it grossed about $88.3 million to bring its international gross to just under $315 million.

Inside Out 2 remained in third place with an estimated $12.8 million to bring its domestic total to $596.4 million. Internationally, the movie grossed $69.4 million over the week to bring that to $846.9 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.443 billion.

Longlegs dropped from second to fourth with $6.1 million. Domestically, it has grossed $44.7 million after two weeks. Internationally, the movie has grossed $2.7 million. Worldwide, it has grossed $47.3 million.

A Quiet Place: Day One wrapped up the top five with $6.1 million to bring its domestic total to $127.6 million. Over the week, it grossed $9.3 million internationally to bring that total to $113.8 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $241.4 million.

It’s the summer of family movies it’d seem as Despicable Me 4 had a solid second weekend dropping just 40.5%. It grossed an estimated $44.7 million to bring its domestic total to $211.1 million. Internationally, it grossed $119.8 million to lift that to $226.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $437.8 million in just two weeks.

Longlegs debuted in second place with a solid $22.6 million domestically. It’s the latest horror film to show there’s pretty consistent support for the genre.

Inside Out 2 dropped to third place but added $20.7 million to its domestic total which is now $572.6 million. Internationally, it grossed $94.4 million over the week to bring that total to $777.5 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.350 billion after just 4 weeks.

A Quiet Place: Day One Slipped one spot to fourth place with $11.8 million to bring its domestic total to $116.2 million. Internationally, the movie grossed $20.7 million over the week to bring that to $104.5 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $220.7 million.

Fly Me to the Moon debuting in fifth place with $10 million domestically and $9 million internationally for a worldwide total of $19 million.

Family films and animation continue to dominate the box office as Despicable Me 4 took the top spot for the weekend. The movie grossed $75 million over the weekend but it opened earlier in the week delivering $122.6 million domestically so far. Internationally, the movie has grossed $106.9 million for a worldwide total of $229.5 million. The first film debuted in 2010 with $56.4 million and went on to gross $543.3 million worldwide; the second film opened with $83.5 million in 2013 and grossed $970.8 million worldwide in 2013; while the third film opened with $72.4 million and went on to gross $1.035 billion worldwide in 2017.

Inside Out 2 slipped to second place adding $30 million domestically to its total which is now $533.8 million. Over the week, the movie grossed $137.6 million internationally to lift that total to $683.1 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.217 billion after 4 weeks.

A Quiet Place: Day One slipped one spot to come in third with a little over $21 million. It has now grossed $94.4 million domestically. Over the week, it grossed $36.3 million internationally to bring that total to $83.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $178.2 million.

MaXXXine debuted in fourth place with $6.7 million domestically and $1.1 million internationally for $7.8 million worldwide.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die rounded out the top five with $6.6 million bringing its domestic gross to $177.4 million. Over the week, it grossed $16.1 million internationally to bring that total to $182.8 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $360.2 million.

Inside Out 2 delivered another monster weekend taking first place at the box office. The film grossed an estimated $57.4 million to bring its domestic total to $469.3 million. Over the week, it grossed $176.3 million to bring its international total to $545.5 million. The movie has crossed the billion dollar mark with $1.015 billion after just 3 weeks. That’s over $150 million more than the entire run for the original film in 2015 and shows the claims of Pixar and Disney’s demise was premature.

A Quiet Place: Day One debuted in second place with $53 million domestically and $45.5 million internationally for a worldwide gross of $98.5 million. In 2018, A Quiet Place debuted with $50.2 million and went on to gross just under $341 million worldwide. A Quiet Place II debuted in 2020 with $47.5 million and went on to gross $297.4 million.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 was a clunked of a debut coming in third place with $11 million. There was no international gross reported.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die slipped to fourth place with $10.3 million to bring its domestic total to $165.3 million. Internationally, the film grossed $24.5 million over the week to bring that total to $166.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed to just under $332 million.

Kalki 2898 AD debuted in fifth place with $5.5 million domestically with no international gross.

The movie added an estimated $100 million to its domestic box office to bring it to $355.2 million. The movie is now the top grossing domestic film of 2024 by $73 million. Internationally, the movie grossed $229.2 million over the week where it has now grossed $369.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $724.4 million in only two weeks making it the top grossing film worldwide as well. Will the film cross $1 billion? Stay tuned!

Bad Boys: Ride or Die held on to second place with $18.8 million to bring its domestic total to $146.9 million. Over the week, the movie added $39.8 million to its international total which is now $142.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $289.1 million.

The Bikeriders debut in third place with $10 million. Internationally, the film grossed a little under $4 million. Worldwide, the movie grossed just under $14 million for its debut.

The Garfield Movie tied with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in the early reports. Both grossed about $3.6 million.

Inside Out 2 delivers a massive opening

It was a Pixar weekend, as the embattled animation studio showed they still have it. Inside Out 2 debuted with an estimated $154.2 million opening. That’s the best opening of 2204 so far. The film almost matched that internationally where it grossed $140 million delivering an opening of $295 million.

The first Inside Out debuted in 2015 with $90.4 million domestically and went on to gross $858.9 million worldwide. This film’s opening is a reason to celebrate for Disney and especially Pixar which both have had a string of disappointments over the past year.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die dropped 41.6% from its opening weekend to come in second place. It’s not a bad drop for an action film teasing it might have some legs. The movie grossed $33 million domestically to lift its total to $112.2 million. Internationally, the movie added $53.8 million over the week to bring that total to $102.4 million for a worldwide gross of $214.6 million after two weeks.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes improved and moved up to third place with $5.2 million. The movie has grossed $157.8 million domestically so far. It also grossed $6.7 million internationally over the week to bring that total to $216.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $374.5 million after six weeks.

The Garfield Movie slipped to fourth place to gross $5 million and bring its domestic gross to $78.5 million. Internationally, it grossed $15.1 million over the week to bring that to $139.2 million and $217.7 million worldwide.

Wrapping up the top five was The Watchers which added $3.7 million to its domestic total bringing it to $13.7 million. It also added $4.9 million internationally over the week to bring that total to $9.6 million and a worldwide gross of $23.3 million.
