Bad Boys: Ride or Die tops a dull weekend box office

Bad Boys: Ride or Die

It might feel like summer out there but you wouldn’t know from the weekend box office which was rather so-so. Bad Boys: Ride or Die was at the top with a gross of $56 million domestically. The film also grossed $48.6 million at the international box office for a worldwide debut of $104.6 million. While some seem to be claiming the film has saved the summer box office and had an amazing debut, it’s below 2020’s Bad Boys for Life with debuted with $62.5 million. That went on to gross $426.5 million worldwide with $206.3 million domestically and $220.2 million internationally. It’s far to early to judge Bad Boys: Ride or Die but we’ll have a good idea if it has legs next weekend where it’ll only have Inside Out 2, a family film, to really go against and quite a few weeks before another potential adult film is released to really challenge it. Ongoing success of the film may be due to lack of competition than anything else.
