Maestro Media and AMIGO Partner to Bring Beloved European Games to North America
Maestro Media and AMIGO, the acclaimed German board game publisher, have announced a strategic partnership to bring AMIGO games to the North American market. The partnership launches in spring 2027 with two of AMIGO’s best-loved family titles, Fruit Punch and Speed Cups, both from designer Haim Shafir.
The agreement brings together two companies with complementary strengths: AMIGO’s catalog of family and party games that have become household names across Europe, and Maestro Media’s North American publishing, marketing and retail engine. It is a significant move for both companies and for the tabletop industry, giving one of Europe’s most established publishers a dedicated partner to grow its presence in one of the world’s largest board game markets.
At the center of the launch is Fruit Punch, known internationally as Halli Galli, which has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide and remains one of the most recognizable family games ever made. Alongside Speed Cups, it gives North American families an easy way into the fast, social style of play AMIGO is known for.
A Proven Path from Europe to North America
The AMIGO partnership builds on Maestro Media’s track record of bringing celebrated European games to new audiences, most notably Ghost Blitz from Zoch Verlag, which Maestro introduced to North America. As with Ghost Blitz, Maestro is leading a North American refresh of both games’ packaging, with a newly illustrated box for both Fruit Punch and Speed Cups.
The result is a cohesive family of fast-reaction games that sit naturally alongside Ghost Blitz on retail shelves.
The partnership also reflects the vision behind Overture, Maestro Media’s platform for working with creators and publishers to develop, publish and bring games to market. Overture is built for exactly this kind of collaboration: giving partners access to the same engine that powers Maestro’s own titles, with crowdfunding, direct-to-consumer and retail working together, backed by a passionate fan community and a portfolio of some of the world’s best-known entertainment brands.
Fruit Punch and Speed Cups are the first titles under the partnership, with both companies already exploring further opportunities to bring more of AMIGO’s catalog to North American players.
The Games: Fast, Simple and Built for Everyone
Both games come from Haim Shafir, the designer behind Halli Galli, and share the qualities that have made his work a fixture on family tables worldwide: rules that take a minute to learn, rounds that last about 15 minutes, and gameplay that rewards quick eyes and fast hands over experience. Each plays with two to six players, so kids can compete on equal footing with adults.
Fruit Punch: Five Fruits, One Fast Reaction
Ages 6+ |2 –6 Players | Approximately 15 Minutes
Players take turns revealing fruit cards, watching for the moment exactly five of the same fruit appear across the table. When they do, the first player to squeak the banana claims the advantage. With combinations shifting every turn, players have to stay sharp, react fast and keep their nerve, making every round an unpredictable contest between kids and adults alike.
Speed Cups: Stack, Match and Ring the Bell
Ages 6+ | 2–6 Players | Approximately 15 Minutes
Based on the six-player XL edition, Speed Cups turns colorful visual puzzles into a physical race. Each player gets five cups and must recreate the arrangement shown on a card, whether that means stacking them vertically or lining them up side by side. The first player to get it right rings the bell and claims the round, testing observation, coordination and speed every time a new card is revealed.
Fruit Punch and Speed Cups are scheduled to arrive in North America in Spring 2027 and will be found at stores across North America. Attendees at SPIEL Essen 2026 (October 22–25) can get an early hands-on look at both games at the Maestro Media booth 3A.200.
