As part of her quest to defeat the interlopers from the Red Planet threatening to conquer all of Hyrkania, the She-Devil with a Sword must track down and free a captured slave — but fame and her fearsome fighting reputation are hindering Sonja’s efforts to locate her quarry. Clearly, this is a job for Red Sohn, the incognito He-Devil with a Sword!

Of course, Sonja’s sojourn across the gender divide doesn’t go unnoticed by the throbbing-brained invaders, and they waste no time in taking advantage of the distraction to press their attack. After all her years of cheating death, will Sonja finally face the ultimate indignity of dying like a man?

Find out in the stunning second issue of Red Sonja Attacks Mars, transmitted directly from the hypertrophic heads of author JAY STEPHENS and artist FRAN STRUKAN and reassembled within unsettlingly attractive covers from JOSEPH MICHAEL LINSNER, JAE LEE & JUNE CHUNG, and GREG LAND — images that will be inescapably included on exclusive trading cards polybagged with every copy of Covers A, B, and C!

Red Sonja Attacks Mars #2

Red Sonja Brings the Fight in New Mars Attacks Crossover With Jay Stephens!

The maniacal Martians of the cult classic Mars Attacks! brought the fight to the She-Devil With a Sword before, but now in a new series coming this March, Red Sonja Attacks Mars! Dynamite has announced the epic crossover full of action and laughs from perfect fit writer Jay Stephens.

Sonja is serving out a life-debt when she discovers a sinister prophecy of cosmic foulness from beyond the stars. To stop the imminent destruction of the whole world and her beloved Hyrkania, she must trek from the deserts in the south all the way to the northern shores of the Vilayet Sea. There she will go toe to toe with the big-headed insidious invaders back once more from Mars. Along the way she will face trials too, serpent-men, metamorlocks, and ancient monster-gods in her path.

Horror and humor master Jay Stephens, beloved for his genius series Dwellings and contributions to new titles like Tales from the Abyss, writes this new series and is joined by returning artist Fran Strukan. The cross-genre flavors of retro science fiction, sword and sorcery action, and dark comedy are all whipped up into a special Neapolitan twist of entertaining comics brilliance that will have readers crying “ACK ACK!” for more!

This interplanetary event for the ages is complemented by brain-bending covers from superstars Joseph Michael Linsner, Jae Lee, and Greg Land.

As a tribute to the classic trading card roots of Mars Attacks!, each cardstock variant cover of the first issue will additionally be polybagged with exclusive collectible cards featuring the piece from the respective artists, free of trade dress. It comes to shops in March 2025.

Mars Attacks Red Sonja & All of Hyrkania in New Series!

Fans have seen them attack fin-headed cops, iconic rock bands, and fellow denizens of the red planet, but now Dynamite presents Mars Attacks Red Sonja!

John Layman and artist Fran Strukan will chronicle the untold tale of when the dastardly Martians invaded Hyrkania during the Hyborian Age. Joined by colorist Valentina Briški and letterer maestro Taylor Esposito, the team will unravel this forgotten piece of history. How do the steel and savagery of Red Sonja stand up against the advanced weaponry and science of the big-brained baddies? Only one way to find out, by reading the ACK-ing book!

The explosive first issue features a crop of covers by the coolest creators. A man very well-versed in depicting the She-Devil With a Sword is Lucio Parrillo, who highlights the menace of the Martians. Fan-favorite Dustin Nguyen uses plenty of red and his signature style, and we’re not just referring to Sonja’s hair. Arthur Suydam evokes the classic era of science fiction that birthed the Mars Attacks franchise originally. Coming a long way from having fan art featured in an issue of Red Sonja (Vol 4 #7), is Luca Strati showing off a victorious Sonja. The legendary Barry Kitson swings through with a wraparound bursting with dynamism. And last but certainly not least is an incentive variant by Alan Quah homaging the classic trading cards.
