Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was in first place again this past weekend earning an estimated $61 million. That lifts the film to about $291.9 million domestically after two weeks. Internationally, the film grossed about $131.2 million over the week to bring that to $396.2 million. That has brought the film to just under $688.1 million after two weeks.
Domestically, the film dropped 67.5% over the past week’s earnings which could mean a few things. The large opening frontloaded the film and the hardcore individuals saw it and didn’t go for a second viewing. The film also had a bit of mixed reviews, so it could be negative reviews that caused it. Either way, it should be interesting to see how the film does from here and what the legs are especially as more blockbusters start rolling out.
In second place was The Bad Guys which earned $6.9 million to bring its domestic total to $66.3 million. Internationally, the film added about $8.7 million over the week to bring that to $99.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $165.6 million.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 continues to do well adding $4.6 million to its domestic total to bring that to $175.7 million. Its international total held steady at $179.5 million bringing its worldwide gross to $355.2 million.
Firestarter debuted in fourth with an estimated anemic $3.8 million. The film also opened digitally on streaming services as well so there could be impact from that. Internationally, the film also earned about $2.1 million delivering an opening of $5.9 million.
Rounding out the top five was Everything Everywhere All at Once which had a small drop earning $3.3 million to bring its domestic total to $47.1 million. Internationally, the film added around $800,000 to that total over the week to bring it to $4.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $51.8 million.

Morbius looks like its domestic run is winding down. It earned just $800,00 over the week to bring its domestic gross to $72.7 million. Internationally, the film looks like it remained steady with $90 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $162.7 million.
The Batman earned about $100,000 over the week to bring that film’s domestic total to $369.2 million. Over the week, the movie earned about $2.5 million internationally to bring that total to $398 million. The film currently stands at $767.2 million. It’ll be interesting to see how much more it can earn with its streaming release though international grosses are really driving things.
Initial numbers have 44 films earning $91,685,415 from 29,386 theaters. That’s a massive decrease from last weekend’s 41 films which earned $222,249,164 from 29,494 theaters. The average earning was $3,120.04 this past weekend, less than half from the previous weekend’s $7,535.40.
