Arcadia #7 continues the interesting concepts but misses its emotional connection

Fix and Halu have reached dangerous terrain, where snowy mountains threaten to stop their journey completely. They are rescued and taken to a nearby army base, where the soldiers are locked in a never-ending battle with Superdragons. Cut-off from civilization, their forever war threatens to consume them all and could spell doom for our heroic lovers if they don’t find a way out.

Arcadia #6 has a lot of interesting concepts but feels like the Walking Dead without depth

Fix and Halu are on the road searching for the fabled city of Arcadia, where all their worries will be over. All they have to do is avoid the marauding Ferals and the roving gangs of bandits. Sounds easy enough…right? The acclaimed series Arcadia reaches its halfway point. From the Miranda Brothers, the Eisner-nominated team that brought you We Live comes a sci-fi adventure like no other.

Voyeur #5 wraps things up and keeps us excited for more to come

Unfortunately, they didn’t plan for the ghosts of their pasts to reach them all the way out on the island. When faced with a choice, will this steamy couple choose love, freedom, or riches? Arcadia #4 really shifts the focus of the series as a new direction debuts

There’s nothing Halu has wanted more than to spend the rest of his life with Fix in blissful romance. But over time, their shiny love is starting to tarnish under the strain of everyday life. Especially compared to the picture- perfect narrative Halu can view through Weedy’s Neuronaten device.

Enter Rouke. A hard-living drifter offering Halu the opportunity for adventure. Halu is eager to join the brigand on the road, but Fix isn’t sure the price of those thrills won’t be too high.

Arcadia #3 delivers a bit of an emotional punch as it continues to expand its world

Halu has become an expert scavenger, roaming the abandoned cities in search of Uberpills to power Weedy’s experiments and help Fix keep her vehicles running. Each scavenge is its own adventure, with the constant threat of ferals attacking. The bigger the danger the bigger the spoils, however, as a terrible attack leads him to a treasure trove. But can he get back to Weedy in time to ensure the future the old man dreams of?

Arcadia #2 continues to build an intriguing world while poking at emotions

Life is looking good for young Halu. His relationship with Fix is growing, and he’s starting to get the hang of being a scavenger. On his latest hunt, he encounters a group of violent ferals, but he also uncovers treasure–an uberpill! What will he do with such a coveted item? Meanwhile, Halu’s mentor, Weedy, races against time to finish his secret project–a physical record of his memories–before his body fails him.

Voyeur #3 continues to tease its sexy cool as Rook and Madeline continue to scheme and steal

You’ve met Rook. You also met Madeline. And they’ve met each other.

Now, the romantic games can really begin!

Madeline has immersed herself fully in Rook’s world. The art thief has infiltrated the luxurious Koh Kingfisher resort as a security guard, and he’s using his perch from the control room to spy on the guests via the closed-circuit cameras. When they leave their rooms, he enters on the sly, stealing the expensive paintings from the walls and replacing them with fakes. Madeline decides to speed up the process by luring the unsuspecting victims away herself to give Rook the access he needs. But can the crook handle the jealousy her scheme fuels within him?

Arcadia #1 is some solid sci-fi that slowly teases the future to come

In a future where humanity has vanished, a new form of life rises from the ruins: the Serants, artificial beings born from mysterious technological chrysalises known as Superdragons. Each one carries a Pearl, a biotechnological core that holds their consciousness, their memories…their soul.

Halu is a Serant born late, emerging from a forgotten silo. He is rescued from destruction by Weedy, an eccentric scavenger obsessed with the remnants of the past and the search for meaning in their own existence. Soon after, Halu meets Fix, a practical, strong, and luminous young mechanic who awakens something deep within him. Together, in a world of ruins and dangers, they search for meaning, connection, and a reason to endure.

Arcadia is a work of existential science fiction–profoundly human, where memory and love endure as a precious mystery that refuses to fade. A story that explores what makes us human…when humanity is no longer there to tell us the answer.

Voyeur #2 is a hell of an issue delivering an introduction from another perspective

The tables are turning, as the observer becomes the observed!

Now that Madeline has figured out who is spying on her, and that the security guard Rook is not exactly who he tells everyone he is, her vacation has become a whole other experience entirely. What had been a trip of self-reflection and grieving is now a chance to explore herself even further. How far will she go with this man, both in the bedroom and outside of it? Rook’s scheme to rob the extravagant resort of all its art may just be the kind of adventure Madeline has been looking for!
