Slightly Exaggerated gets a paperback edition from Dark Horse

Comics explorers craving the artistic depth and wonder of Studio Ghibli with the epic and daring of Tomb Raider will find their next adventure in Slightly Exaggerated. Initially available on their successful Kickstarter, writer Curtis Clow, artist Pius Bak, colorists Roman Titov, and Eva De La Cruz, and letterer Toben Racicot partner with Dark Horse Comics to collect issues #1 through #4 together in a new paperback collection.

A dying treasure hunter must steal back a sacred artifact from a crazed cult leader to restore order before her sickness overcomes her, in a new, fantasy world where religion is the law.

Set in a land where Sky-whales and airships populate the horizon, this action-packed story follows Mia and her companion Winston, caught in a scheme well outside their comprehension. Mia’s talent for treasure-finding has dragged them into peril, with factions waging war to obtain three sacred relics capable of granting a person the power of a god. A terminally-ill adventurer in a race against everyone, Mia is prepared to sacrifice everything to save her friends.

Slightly Exaggerated arrives in trade paperback on bookstore shelves on July 9, 2024, and comic shops on July 10, 2024. Pre-order at your local comic shop, bookstore, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble for $19.99.

Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #1

(W) Frank Tieri (A/CA) Inaki Miranda
In Shops: Jun 21, 2023
SRP: $3.99

In the 1500s, before humanity had successfully traveled the entire globe, it was believed that monsters ruled the oceans just beyond the horizon. “Here there be dragons…” was written on maps to denote the areas people dared not go.That is, until Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the seas, visiting foreign lands and collecting treasure. That’s what history tells us, at least, but history does not have the full tale. Monsters did lurk yonder, living on an island that still doesn’t appear on any map, and among them was the king of them all-Godzilla!

From Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda, the incredible team behind Old Lady Harley, comes a Godzilla adventure like no other.

Review: We Live: Age of The Palladions #4

We Live: Age of The Palladions #4 continues the series’ stumble as it looks great and features solid ideas but doesn’t hit the emotional punches that made the first volume so great.

Time has run out! The shield protecting Megalopolis 9 can fall at any moment. The future of the population is in the hands of the Palladions and the reconnection team, who come across an unexpected obstacle that can only be solved by spilling blood: the blood of an old friend.

Destiny puts Tala and Hototo in the way of a hurtful crossroad that asks them to break their promises. Sometimes hearts are forced to be silent.

Meanwhile, Nesbo and his nomad caravan face the hostility of the New Nature. Hope might be all that they have on their side and the only thing capable of guiding them to a safe port.

Decisions and paths can’t be walked back, and storms can’t be stopped.

Even when knowing that everything might be lost, forward is the only way to go.

Review: We Live: Age of The Palladions #2

We Live is back with the monster threat even greater and defenses running thin. After a debut that required two different releases, we’re back to single issues… and it feels overstuffed.
