Get a look at Red Sonja X Barbarella

Dynamite Entertainment has revealed some gorgeous preview pages from the upcoming genre-melding crossover series Red Sonja X Barbarellastarting this November! Plus, international superstar Stjepan Šejić‘s stunning cover exclusively available in the blind bag is revealed now!

This exciting new series unites two prolific veterans of the prestigious Heavy Metal magazine, with the Dynamite debut of writer Homero Rios alongside the remarkable art of Diego Yapur. The science fiction flavorings of the Siren of the Spaceways and the sword and sorcery sagas of the She-Devil With a Sword cross paths in this unexpected and thrilling crossover. In these early pages, Yapur’s jaw-dropping visuals showcase both characters’ worlds in dazzling detail ahead of them officially coming face to face.

The series kicks off this November, and is complemented with covers by Yapur, Joseph Michael Linsner, Collette Turner, and a pair of photos by cosplayer IvyCosplay portraying each co-star. Fans can also grab a fun mystery blind bag for rare versions of these pieces and other surprises.

Stjepan Šejić has graced a range of characters with his peerless stylings, but never before Jean-Claude Forest’s iconic Barbarella. Now fans get a two-for-one with his depiction of both beloved heroines. This cover is exclusive to the blind bag!

Vampirella in Paradise… Or Not? Tom Sniegoski’s Next Saga Starts November!

The Daughter of Drakulon has faced death and rebirth, and lived to tell the tale. Now this November, Tom Sniegoski‘s three decades and running chronicles of Vampirella continue in Paradise.

Fan-favorite writer Sniegoski and artist Edu Menna reunite for the next chapter in this continuity which has put the raven-haired anti-heroine through the ringer in recent years. At the finale of the preceding series Vampirella Armageddon, Almighty God bestowed upon Vampi a wondrous gift — yet the dreamlike paradise she finds herself in is not what it seems.

Classic foes from her rogues gallery return, as the Mad God of Chaos and the Blood Red Queen of Hearts haunt and corrupt this new world. It’s up to Vampirella to unfold the darkness as she is called to battle once more!

Sniegoski is approaching this latest chapter through a unique lens, following Armageddon which served as a final, apocalyptic battle between light and darkness. That chapter brought some things full circle, tying up certain key themes and threads that have run through his Vampirella works going back to the early 1990s. Now Paradise answers a crucial question — what if Vampirella finally caught a break? But of course, it’s not quite that easy… so where will the most prolific creator in Vampirella’s history take her next?

In addition to the gorgeous artwork of Edu Menna, this new series has the ultimate crimson cherry on top with a range of jaw-dropping covers. Superstar Francesco Mattina returns to the character and leads the theme of fabulous frames around these masterpieces. Vampi mainstay Joseph Michael Linsner joins the party. While this book marks the Dynamite Debut of artist Josephine Tomarchio, with an instant classic. Cosplayer Lauren Delorean is featured on a cover. Collectors can seek out the mystery blind bag for even rarer versions of these covers and other surprises!

The Truth is Still Out There as The X-Files Returns to Comics this Winter

Trust no one! Announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Dynamite Entertainment and Disney Publishing Worldwide are teaming to return the classic franchise The X-Files to comics. All-new tales arriving this winter!

The franchise’s definitive modern writer in comics returns, with Joe Harris crafting even more thrilling cases for Mulder and Scully to investigate each and every month everywhere comics are sold. Harris has written more X-Files comic scripts than any other creator and is best known for his Season 10 and Season 11 storylines, published more than a decade ago. Longtime fans can look forward to more of Harris’s critically acclaimed take on the boundary-pushing, mind-bending science fiction that has long defined The X-Files. Beyond channeling the FBI’s fabled agents, Harris is known for his copious contributions to Marvel, DC, and on Alice Cooper comics with Dynamite.

Joining him for this new era of unclassified tales taking place after the show is artist Riley Brown. The up and coming penciler makes this big splash following work on titles like Dead Acre: Black Badge. His versatile stylings are set to bring the latest scintillating sci-fi to the comics page.

The X-Files had an incredibly influential run on television through the 1990s and beyond, with two films, multiple revival seasons, and spinoffs. The franchise also has history in comic books, with its procedural conspiracy and monster-of-the-week style storytelling being a perfect match for this other medium.

The comic series is set to debut this winter, and additional details on the stories being crafted by Harris and Brown will come shortly. Fans can follow Dynamite across all platforms and their favorite voices around the fandom to stay tuned.

Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1 is a Nice Introduction for New Readers

Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1

One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness. It was a world of fear. It was the age of GARGOYLES! Stone by day, warriors by night, they were betrayed by the humans they had sworn to protect…frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is broken, and they live again! They are defenders of the night! THEY ARE GARGOYLES!

It is 1997. The Manhattan Clan has remembered their calling…being heroes to the helpless on the streets of New York. At the same time, the Gargoyles desperately search for clues to the whereabouts of their missing Gargoyle egg. And they must hurry, for an ancient, all-powerful evil has awoken, with a score to settle…

Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1 continues the previous series while serving as an entry point for new readers.

Written by Greg Weisman, Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1 kicks off a new volume but does so in a way that’s heavily focused on new readers. If you’ve never read a previous comic or don’t know the animated series, the debut issue runs you through everything you need to know. It’s done so in a way that it skews almost too heavily towards new readers and might lose the long time fans.

The issue introduces us to the concept of the Gargoyles and their big picture battle, regaining an egg that was stolen from them. Their relationship with the people of New York City is explored, doing a fine job of laying out everything readers need to know. All of this is done around some tense action as the Gargoyles fly into action to save individuals who might plummet to their doom.

All of it is ok, but it’s a little odd so many important people are stuck in the same situation. Still, Weisman uses it to introduce us to key players who have, or will, play a role in the series as it progresses. It’s written clearly for those that are new and the way it’s introduced, for younger readers who might overlook the coincidence.

The art by Gerardo Gambone is good. With color by Robby Bevard and lettering by Jeff Eckleberry the comic continues the style of the animated series and brought over to the comics. The action has a nice flow to it and the characters all look solid. Overall, it’s nice art with some solid panels and pages. But, overall, it doesn’t do anything that breaks from the style the property is accustomed to.

Gargoyles Vol. 2 #1 is a fine start that is a good introduction to the characters and world. It helps build what’s to come but might focus a bit too much on catching readers up. New readers won’t have an issue but those who have been reading the previous volume might find it doesn’t have enough to excite them.
