The Ultimate Universe Unites Against their Maker this December

Posted on by

This December, Marvel’s Ultimate Universe reaches a critical turning point—one that will determine if it even has a future—in Ultimate Endgame!

In addition to Ultimate EndgameE, the climactic five-issue event that brings together the entire Ultimate line for the first time, December also sees the launch of Ultimate Universe: Two Years In #1, a special one-shot packed with reveals that will impact Ultimate Endgame, as well as the final issue of Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s generational run of Ultimate Spider-Man and key issues of Ultimates, Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate Wolverine, and Ultimate X-Men, each setting the stage for their involvement in the upcoming event.

Written by Ultimates scribe Deniz Camp and drawn by superstar artists Jonas Scharf and Terry Dodson, Ultimate Endgame delivers the ultimate payoff to the epic narrative that Jonathan Hickman began over two years ago in Ultimate Invasion. The Maker, creator of the Ultimate Universe, finally returns and confront the heroes who have brought hope and freedom to a world he once held in his tight grip! The fate of this world—and its future storytelling—will be decided in an epic, multi-front conflict with the Maker and his powerful allies.

The Ultimate Universe has been an industry sensation, and to mark this highly anticipated chapter, Ultimate Endgame #1 will debut True Believe Blind Bags, Marvel’s first-ever bling bag program, giving fans a chance to purchase the issue in special sealed bags that contain one of the issue’s many covers, including variant covers only available in True Believe Blind Bags. The covers exclusive to the True Believe Blind Bags also include secret covers that will remain unrevealed until a lucky fan finds them, creating an exciting opportunity for collectors and a new way for local comic shops to engage with their customer base!

Behold all that’s to come with the reveal of all seven Ultimate issues coming this December:

Marvel reveals the Final Three Deadpool/Batman Covers

Posted on by

Marvel Comics has revealed the final three cover for Deadpool/Batman #1. The trio are from superstar artists J. Scott Campbell, Pepe Larraz, and Esad Ribić. Fans can also get a sneak peek at the main story along with pages from the backup stories starring Daredevil & Green Arrow and Jeff the Land Shark & Krypto.

On sale September 17, the Deadpool/Batman one-shot marks the first crossover between the world’s greatest comic book companies in decades, soon to be followed in November by Batman/Deadpool #1, a one-shot published by DC. Both comics will deliver explosive sagas starring Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth and DC’s Caped Crusader along with backup stories that showcase additional team-ups and showdowns between legendary characters from both universes.

Fans can see even more unbelievable matchups on Deadpool/Batman’s variant covers. While Ribić’s cover spotlights the main event, Campbell and Larraz’s covers tease battles for two of the fiercest X-Men, pitting Psylocke against vigilante Huntress and Rogue against iconic Batman supervillain Poison Ivy!

Deadpool/Batman will be written by Zeb Wells and drawn by Greg Capullo. The backup stories include Daredevil and Green Arrow by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert, Jeff the Land Shark and Krypto by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru, Captain America and Wonder Woman by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern by Al Ewing and Dike Ruan, and Wolverine (Old Man Logan) and Batman (The Dark Knight Returns) by Frank Miller.
