Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Launches in July from VIZ Media

VIZ Media kicks off a new supernatural action-adventure manga series set in early 20th century Japan with the launch of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba on July 3rd.

This manga release features story and artwork by creator Koyoharu Gotouge and will be published under the Shonen Jump imprint with an age rating of ‘T’ for Teens. Print MSRP for Volume 1 will be $9.99 U.S. / $12.99 CAN. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba also launches digitally on July 3rd via viz.com and the VIZ Manga App, as well as from the Nook, Kobo, Kindle, iBooks, comiXology, and Google Play stores. Future volumes of this ongoing series will be published in English by VIZ Media on a bi-monthly basis.

In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.

VIZ Media Announces a Whole Bunch of New Manga Series Acquisitions

VIZ Media announced the acquisition of several notable new manga properties during its official panel event at the San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

New titles to be published in print and digital under the Shonen Jump imprint include Black Torch, a supernatural action series about a boy who can talk to animals and is dragged into a secret battle to defend humanity against hostile spirits, Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, a romantic comedy featuring the hilarious antics of a pair of geniuses in love, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, a paranormal adventure about a young man’s quest to reverse his sister’s hideous transformation into one of the very monsters he fights. The first of these new titles will launch in early 2018.

VIZ Media also announced plans to publish Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction by acclaimed creator Inio Asano. VIZ Media also publishes his Eisner-nominated titles Solanin and Goodnight PunPun, as well as his What A Wonderful World.
