NYCC 2022: DC announces DC Universe Infinite Ultra

During New York Comic Con, DC has announced a new spin on their digital comics platform, DC Universe Infinite. Expanding to 32,000+ books in November 2022, and new issues available one month after their release in stores, DC has revealed a new Ultra tier launching Monday, October 10.

Ultra subscribers will be eligible to receive one free physical comic book (based on availability) when they subscribe, upgrade or renew their membership. For the first time ever, DC graphic novels and select MAD Magazine issues will also be available to read across all membership tiers on DC Universe Infinite.

DC Universe Infinite Ultra subscribers will be able to read the latest releases from DC one month after they are available in comic shops. Recent titles that will be available to Ultra subscribers today include Black Adam #1-4, Batman: Beyond the White Knight #1-4, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #1-4, Flashpoint Beyond #1-5, Poison Ivy #1-4, The Nice House on the Lake #1-9 and more.

Starting in mid-November, Ultra subscribers also gain access to more than 5,000 exclusive titles from Vertigo, DC Black Label and Collected Editions from DC including Sandman Presents: Dead Boy Detectives, 100 Bullets, and American Vampire, and more. 

As part of their paid subscription, all Ultra subscribers will be eligible to receive one free physical comic book when they subscribe, upgrade or renew their membership. The first comic offered will be a softcover copy of The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (while supplies last) featuring an Ultra exclusive cover by Ivan Reis. The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition collects Superman #73-75, Adventures of Superman #496-497, Justice League America #69, Action Comics #683-684, Superman: The Man of Steel #17-19, and Newstime: The Life and Death of Superman #1—plus Superman: Day of Doom #1-4as a bonus tale! The exclusive comic offered for Ultra subscribers will vary and is not available during the free trial period. Ultra subscribers can expect their comic 10-12 weeks after providing their mailing address.

DC Graphic Novels, including Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven, Nubia: Real One and Mister Miracle: The Great Escape, are available to DC Universe Infinite subscribers across all tiers. In addition, more than 100 issues from MAD Magazine’s 70-year history will be available to read with more being added on an on-going basis.

The brand-new Ultra tier launches Monday, October 10, and is available for a special limited-time introductory price of $99.99 USD a year in the US, $119.99 CAN in Canada, $134.99 AUD in Australia, $134.99 NZD in New Zealand and £72.99 BPS in the U.K., plus applicable taxes. The introductory pricing rate is available until November 28, 2022, and remains valid as long as your Ultra Annual subscription is in good standing and you do not cancel. Current DC Universe Infinite subscribers can upgrade their monthly and annual subscriptions to Ultra. Members who remain on their current monthly or annual subscription will continue to receive new comics six months after they are available at comic shops.

DC Universe Infinite is going global! DC today announced that its premium digital comics subscription service has launched in Canada and will soon be available in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Mexico. Fans will be able to access over 25,000 of their favorite comic books starting on:

  • Canada: LIVE NOW!
  • Australia: March 29, 2022
  • New Zealand: March 29, 2022
  • United Kingdom: April 28, 2022
  • Brazil: Summer 2022
  • Mexico: Summer 2022

Stay tuned as DC will continue to announce and launch in additional countries throughout the year!

DC Universe Infinite subscribers will have full access to the same in-depth library of comics, including both classic stories and recently released comics.

Subscribers will also have early access to new Digital First comics that include titles such as the smash hit Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour, Suicide Squad: King Shark and more.

With new comic books being added to DC Universe Infinite six months after they hit retail store shelves, the expansive library is constantly being updated. Recent additions for premium subscribers include Batman: White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn, The Nice House on the Lake, Superman: Son of Kal-El, I Am Batman, Superman and the Authority and many more.

DC Universe Infinite is also home to a fan-favorite community area full of in-depth discussions on the latest releases, Q&As with talent and more. The community is free to all registered and premium subscribers and will be available, alongside a web reader, soon in each of the new countries.

Fans who sign-up for an annual subscription to DC Universe Infinite during the first 30 days of each country’s launch are able to subscribe for $59.99 CAD (+tax), $64.99 AUD, $64.99 NZD and £36.99 BPS a year. Anyone that utilizes the introductory pricing will be able to renew at the same price, as long as they maintain their paid subscription. After the first 30 days, annual subscriptions will be available for $89.99 CAD (+tax), $99.99 AUD & $99.99 NZD or £54.99 a year. Monthly subscriptions are also available for $9.99 CAD (+tax), $9.99 AUD, $9.99 NZD and £6.99 BPS. Pricing for Brazil and Mexico will be announced at a later date.

Month after month, new comics and new content drops on DC Universe Infinite! And September has some of the biggest releases yet! Get ready for Batman Day on September 18th with the release of Batman: The World #1 — available on DC Universe Infinite for subscribers on Tuesday September 14! This 184-page book is a first-of-its-kind publishing event, featuring Batman stories by top creative teams from across the globe! 

And if you missed any of the DC Infinite Frontier print issues that launched in March, DC’s new 2021 runs begin this month on DC Universe Infinite. Start with Infinite Frontier #0 on September 7 and continue all September with Suicide Squad #1, The Swamp Thing #1, The Joker #1, Harley Quinn #1 and more, and be sure to check out the new creative teams that came on with Nightwing #78, Wonder Woman #770, and Justice League #59.

May is here, and DC Universe Infinite members continue to get more DC perks than ever! From digital access to DC’s smash-hit Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comics, to Mother’s Day gifts in the DC Shop, to exciting new DC Community forums celebrating AAPI Heritage Month and more, head over to DC Universe Infinite!

The official DC Shop has new Wonder Woman tanks and shirts featuring images of the iconic DC Super Hero throughout the years and a reminder to always “Believe in Wonder,” and during the week of May 3 the DC Shop will drop in new content for the matriarch in your life! And to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month on the DC Community, Superman Smashes the Klan will be highlighted by the new DC Book Club! Registered DC Universe Infinite members can access this award-winning mini-series for free, and DC Book Club participants will be first in line for a live Q&A with writer Gene Luen Yang. DC Book Club participants will also receive digital wallpapers and downloadable bookmarks as extra perks.

And there’s always new comic book content arriving! Coming this May, DC UNIVERSE INFINITE subscribers can read the first issue of Jeff Lemire’s Sweet Tooth: The Return plus the bestselling Punchline one-shot by James Tynion IV, Sam Johns, and Mirka Andolfo. The back catalogue of DC’s Milestone comics (Blood Syndicate, Static, Icon, Hardware) continue to be a draw for fans, and new digital issues of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point, each with an original code to unlock in-universe content, arrive on DC Universe Infinite the same date as they arrive in print!

See What’s coming to DC Universe Infinite in March

DC Universe Infinite is expanding with even more digital comics being add in March 2021. Subscribers will also get early access to pre-order DC’s limited edition Zack Snyder Justice League Funko Pop! four-pack collection. It’s exclusive to the DC Shop.

In March, DC is launching the DC Book Club. The reading event will happen on DC’s on-platform Community and fans can dive deeper into the comics they love and connect with other members of the community. Each month’s DC Book Club event will feature limited-time free-to-read titles on DC Universe Infinite, exclusive perks, and copper-to-copper connections with special guest talent. Stay tuned for all the details!

And then light up the Bat-Signal, because Detective Comics #1027 arrives on DC Universe Infinite on March 23! In honor of Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27, this special, oversized celebration brings the biggest names in comics to DC Universe Infinite as they chronicle the most epic Batman adventures Gotham City and the DC Universe have ever seen!

Fans eager to read more of DC’s Milestone (Dakota) Universe will get more issues of Static, Hardware, and Icon in March, as well as the chance to read Blood Syndicate #1 and #2. There’s something new to discover every week!

And, every week in March has new chapters of “The Joker War” in issues of Batman, Nightwing, Detective Comics, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Red Hood: Outlaw.
