DC Comics Announces Its Artist Workshop Class of 2017
After reviewing hundreds of submissions during a competitive review process, the DC Talent Development team has identified six aspiring artists to participate in a two-week Artist Workshop hosted at DC’s Burbank headquarters. The workshop is led by industry veterans Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson and DC Publisher Jim Lee.
This year’s class is a worldwide roster with varied backgrounds and artistic styles. Members of the 2017 class include:
- Amancay Nahuelpan (from Chile; YOUNG TERRORISTS, CLANDESTINO, CALEXIT)
- Aneke (from Spain; RED SONJA, BOMBSHELLS, GOTHAM CITY GARAGE)
- Domo Stanton (from Baltimore; THE BIG CON JOB, PREZ)
- Isaac Goodhart (from New York; POSTAL)
- Max Raynor (from the United Kingdom; 2000 AD, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA)
- Priscilla Petraites (from Brazil; BRILLIANT TRASH).
DC’s Talent Development Workshop began in 2015 and has resulted in several participants receiving new assignments from DC editorial. The upcoming one-shot comic New Talent Showcase 2017 #1 will be released on November 29, and will feature stories from DC Talent Development Workshop alumni.
