Convinced that the only way to save the world is to rewrite its past.

Join writer Stephen Graham Jones and artists Davide Gianfelice, Riccardo Burchielli, Patricio Delpeche, and Emily Schnall in this epic that collects all three volumes of Earthdivers (Vol. 1: Kill Columbus, Vol. 2: Ice Age, and Vol. 3: 1776) into one omnibus.

Matthew Arnold returns to Comixology Originals with the new original graphic novel OUTER LANDS featuring art by Davide Gianfelice and a cover by Jock

Announced earlier this year, timed to WonderCon, television and film writer Matthew Arnold returns to Comixology Originals with the new sci-fi original graphic novelOuter Lands, which debuts digitally from Amazon’s Comixology Originals exclusive digital content line on August 26, 2025.

What begins as a historical epic unexpectedly turns into a post-apocalyptic thriller. When a young prince living in a seemingly Ancient Grecian world is exiled to a prison isle to keep him from assuming the throne, he unintentionally discovers a massive global conspiracy in this science-fiction fantasy mash-up.

Outer Lands is written by television and film writer Matthew Arnold, whose work includes NBC’s Siberia, NBC’s Emerald City, and the film Shadow People. Arnold is also the writer of the sci-fi original graphic novel Eden, which is available digitally from Comixology Originals and in print from Dark Horse. Outer Lands features art by Davide Gianfelice, who is best known for his work on Northlanders, and a cover by artist Jock, whose comics work includes Batman, Wytches, The Losers as well as concept art for films including Dredd, Ex Machina and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Outer Lands is a riveting and timely story that delves into our worries about AI and a resurgent fear of global nuclear war, while contrasting that against our romantic notions of an idyllic past. But not everything is as it seems in this epic and surprising tale, which explores both our deepest fears and our greatest fantasies, while ultimately providing a crucial warning for the future.

Outer Lands is an action-packed, twisting tale with big surprises which, at its heart, is really about the dangers of technology and our longing for the nostalgic past,” says writer Matt Arnold.

“What would happen if a hoplite from ancient Greece wielded a modern assault rifle? Together with Matt Arnold, I had an incredible time bringing this bold concept to life crafting an action-packed story where ancient history collides with modern warfare in the most thrilling way,” says artist Davide Gianfelice.
