Move over, Sabrina — Amber Nightstone’s here!

This September, Archie Comics welcomes Amber Nightstone to its growing roster of world-renowned characters, a new antagonist for the iconic teenage witch, Sabrina Spellman! Fans can meet Amber for the first time in the collectible one-shot comic book, Sabrina Anniversary Spectacular #1, part of a wide array of new titles celebrating Sabrina’s bewitching 60-year publishing history.

In the new lead story by Archie Legend Dan Parent, Amber is an evil witch born at exactly the same time as Sabrina. Only one witch born that day may live amongst mortals, and Amber wants her turn, so she has to erase Sabrina from history!

After Sabrina’s debut in ARCHIE’S MAD HOUSE #22 back in July 1962 (in a story by George Gladir and Dan DeCarlo), she went on to captivate fans for decades with magical adventures in comics, TV animation, a hit sitcom, and the blockbuster Netflix streaming series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, starring Kiernan Shipka. This summer’s anniversary celebration also includes a retrospective trade paperback collection and a themed issue of ARCHIE SHOWCASE DIGEST.

Sabrina Anniversary Spectacular #1 releases September 7 in comic shops nationwide, boasting a cover by Dan Parent, letters by Jack Morelli, colors by Glenn Whitmore and several reprint milestone stories from throughout Sabrina history.

Femme Magnifique Gets a New Print Through IDW’s Black Crown

Femme Magnifique, the wildly successful Kickstarter comic book anthology, is headed back to print for a beautiful softcover edition this September. It is a celebration of 50 iconic women who shattered glass ceilings and changed the course of history in the process.

Told by over 100 of the most talented creators in comics from around the world, Femme Magnifique features 3-page short stories about women from the world of music, art, politics, and science. Explored from a personal angle, the subjects of these mini-biopics include Kate Bush, Octavia Butler, Rumiko Takahashi, Ada Lovelace, Misty Copeland, Margaret Sanger, Michelle Obama, Ursula K. Le Guin, Sally Ride, Harriet Tubman and more!

Femme Magnifique was conceived and co-curated by Shelly Bond and Kristy Miller & Brian Miller of Hi-Fi Colour Design. It features contributions from such comic book luminaries as Cecil Castellucci, Marguerite Bennett, Bill Sienkiewicz, Jen Bartel, Mike Carey, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Tini Howard, Elsa Charretier, Tess Fowler, Rafael Albuquerque, Tee Franklin, Gilbert Hernandez, Ming Doyle, Matt Wagner, Jim Rugg, Gail Simone, Mags Visaggio, Marguerite Sauvage, Gerard Way, Philip Bond, Hope Nicholson, Sanford Greene, Sonny Liew, Jen Hickman, Mark Buckingham, Peter Gross, Tyler Crook, Dan Parent, and Kieron Gillen, among many others.

Maxing out at nearly $100,000 raised for the Kickstarter edition, earning over 240% of its initial goal, Femme Magnifique found its audience swiftly.
