V.B.O. (featuring Francesco Cavalieri of WIND ROSE) will bring 80s classics mixed with new V.B.O. songs to San Diego’s House of Blues on July 23 ahead of The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Concert. Purchase tickets HERE!

The DJ set will offer audiences an early preview as V.B.O. prepare to launch their debut album Vice Business Only via Reigning Phoenix Music on Friday July 24. Cavalieri will be performing from 6pm for VIP (GA doors 7pm) through to the show’s start at 8pm, and curating the playlists between sets across the evening.

The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert

Hasbro and Reigning Phoenix Music have announced The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert, a special live event taking place Thursday, July 23, at House of Blues San Diego during Comic-Con week. The concert is part of Hasbro’s “Apology Tour,” a playful, year-long campaign celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie and acknowledging the moment fans still haven’t quite recovered from.
 
Featuring music from The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition performed live by Knights of Unicron, along with a special performance of “The Touch” by Stan Bush, the concert pays tribute to the soundtrack that helped turn an animated movie into a cultural touchstone for generations of fans.
 
The concert also features a powerhouse lineup of fan-favorite performers, including Vince DiCola, whose legendary score helped define the sound and spirit of The Transformers: The Movie; Cold Slither, who returns to the stage after last year’s live debut at Comic-Con, bringing their loud and rebellious sound straight from the world of G.I. JOE; and Britta Phillips, the original singing voice of Jem from Jem and the Holograms, whose glitter, glam and truly outrageous pop flair makes every performance unforgettable. Together, these performers will turn the evening into a full-scale celebration of iconic Hasbro music and entertainment fandom that is… More Than Meets the Eye!

AWR Music Productions and SQUARE ENIX will present “The Music of SQUARE ENIX – Magic, Memories, and Melodies,” during Otakon 2026.

From the creators of “Distant Worlds: Music from FINAL FANTASY” and “NieR: Orchestra Concert,” “The Music of SQUARE ENIX – Magic, Memories, and Melodies” celebrates the unforgettable worlds and iconic soundtracks that have defined generations of video game storytelling and adventure.

This all-new symphonic concert production celebrates the music of CHRONO TRIGGER, FINAL FANTASY, KINGDOM HEARTS, Legend of Mana, NieR, Octopath Traveler, and more in a spectacular multimedia experience.

Through sweeping symphonic arrangements and stunning high-definition game visuals from SQUARE ENIX projected above the stage, this concert invites audiences to relive the stories, emotions, and adventures that continue to inspire players around the world.

Otakon 2026 takes place July 31 to August 3 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Galaxy Quest in Concert to Premiere During San Diego Comic-Con 2019

The cult classic-sci-fi spoof Galaxy Quest in Concert arrives at Jacobs Music Center – Copley Symphony Hall on July 19, just in time for San Diego Comic-Con! Academy Award nominated composer David Newman conducts the San Diego Symphony performing his hilarious, fun-loving and, ultimately heroic score. This concert is part of the popular “Bayside Summer Nights” Season.

For those who don’t know of the film, the stars of a 1970s sci-fi show – now scraping a living through re-runs and sci-fi conventions – are beamed aboard an alien spacecraft. Believing the cast’s heroic on-screen dramas are historical documents of real-life adventures, the band of aliens turn to the ailing celebrities for help in their quest to overcome the oppressive regime in their solar system. Galaxy Quest was directed by Dean Parisot and stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Daryl Mitchell, and Sam Rockwell.
