Sean Gordon Murphy and Corin Howell team for The Lost Bones of Lake Totem

Bestselling Batman: White Knight artist and creator of multiple sell-out hit The Last Driver—Sean Gordon Murphy—joins forces with artist Corin Howell for the upcoming horror story, The Lost Bones of Lake Totem. This all-new, four-issue miniseries is set to launch from Image Comics in January 2027.

The series will also boast exciting variant covers by Clay McCormack, Serena Bell, and Fero Pe, as well as a Blank Sketch cover.

Set in the 1990s, Lake Totem follows a young girl named Nib who unearths clues about a legendary lake monster when a forgotten Indian burial ground is discovered beneath an abandoned drive-in movie theater. Now Nib, her best friend Elliot, and her trusty cat Ripley must follow the clues down a dark path of mythological conspiracy—the same path that destroyed the mind of her missing mother. For centuries a monstrous creature has been luring children into the depths of lake totem…and our young hero is about to uncover the truth!

Lake Totem #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, January 6, 2027.

DC’s Fourth World Crashes into DC’s All In Saga in January 2027

The Fourth World is coming to Earth, and the consequences will reverberate across the DC Universe. This January, writers Ram V and Alex Paknadel join artist Joan Urgell for DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1, a 48-page one-shot that brings Mister Miracle and the surviving New Gods directly into the unfolding DC All In Saga.

Mister Miracle thought he could escape anything. But in the wake of unimaginable upheaval, Scott Free has taken on a role he can’t escape: Highfather. With New Genesis occupied by sinister alien forces, the New Gods have taken refuge on Earth, leaving Scott responsible for leading a displaced people searching for safety on a planet that is not their own.

Their arrival on our world will not go unnoticed.

Fourth World technology is being illegally traded on Earth, and tensions are rising as Mister Miracle and the New Gods attempt to peacefully coexist with their new neighbors. With their homeworld beyond their reach and their extraordinary technology falling into dangerous hands, the remaining New Gods must find their place in the DC Universe before the fragile sanctuary they have found becomes another battlefield.

DC All In Saga: The New Gods builds on the larger story that began in 2024’s DC All In Special #1 and continues this fall in DC All In Saga: Darkseid vs. The World #1. The latter, written by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson with art by Sanford Greene and Yasmine Putri, arrives October 28 and reveals more of Darkseid’s past, present, and future as the war surrounding DC’s ultimate evil continues. 

Darkseid has loomed over the DC All In Saga from its beginning. His consequential confrontation with the heroes of the DC Universe in the DC All In Special helped spark the Absolute Universe, and the repercussions of his actions continue to reach across both worlds. Even as the surviving New Gods face a crisis of their own, Darkseid’s shadow remains impossible to escape. 

DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1, written by Ram V and Alex Paknadel with art by Joan Urgell and Romulo Fajado, Jr., features a main cover by Nimit Malavia and variant covers by Dustin Nguyen, Kyuyong Eom, Jason Shawn Alexander, and Javi Fernández, plus a foil variant cover by Nguyen. The 48-page one-shot arrives at participating comic book shops and digital retailers on January 13, 2027, for $5.99 US, with card stock variants available for $6.99 US.

Dan Watters Takes on The Terminator for a Valentine’s Day Special

It’s a double celebration, as The Terminator marks Valentine’s Day early and superstar writer Dan Watters makes his solo Dynamite debut! Dynamite Entertainment and STUDIOCANAL are bringing this special treat to fans this January.

Watters brings readers a love story like no other. Jack and Jill met at work, with one of those fairytale romances in a whirlwind of love. Even after a year together, they could barely keep their hands off each other. That is, until last week. Jill has found that Jack barely looks at her anymore, never mind tries to touch her. What’s happened to this once picture-perfect relationship?

The answer is that Jack has become single-mindedly obsessed with work. He’s locked in on the upcoming project they’ve both been working on, the background track to their passionate entanglement. Exclusive: Abbott & Costello Meet the Monsters T-Shirt and Collectors Coin featuring art by Zac Atkinson Revealed!

Abbott and Costello are back in comics for the first time in more than half a century — and this time, they’re bringing the monsters with them. Monstrous is launching a Kickstarter campaign for Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters, an all-new comic book series that reunites legendary comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello with the kind of monsters, madmen and supernatural mayhem that helped make some of their most beloved films classics.

The campaign will feature three full-length comics written by Bram Stoker Award winner James Aquilone, an array of variant covers from acclaimed comic book artists, and exclusive Abbott and Costello merchandise.

The new series,Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters, marks the first new comics starring the duo in more than 50 years.

The first issue, Abbott and Costello Meet the Night Stalker, throws Bud and Lou into the dark, supernatural world of Kolchak: The Night Stalker. The issue has interior art by Dave Acosta and covers by J.K. Woodward, Lukas Ketner, and Zac Atkinson.

In the second issue, Abbott and Costello Meet the Morlocks, the duo encounters the subterranean creatures made famous by H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine. The issue features covers by Russ Braun and Colton Worley.

The third comic, Abbott and Costello Meet Cthulhu, sends the comedy legends into cosmic-horror territory for an encounter with one of the most famous monsters in weird fiction. r. The issue has interior art by Juan Samu and covers by Robert Hack and E.V. Cantada.

Each comic will also include the Abbott and Costello comic strips.

The series continues a tradition stretching back to Abbott and Costello’s classic monster comedies, most famously 1948’s Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, which brought the comedians face-to-face with Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster and the Wolf Man. Inspired by those classic films, Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters pairs the duo with creatures and characters they never had the opportunity to encounter on screen.

In addition to the three comics, the Kickstarter campaign will offer exclusive merchandise, such as T-shirts, trading cards, original artwork, and more.

We have an exclusive reveal of the Collectors Coin and T-shirt, each featuring art by Zac Atkinson. Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters will be available through Kickstarter.

Patrick Coyle, co-founder of pioneering online comics publisher Komikwerks, brings the fan-favorite indie series BIXBY GRANT, PRIVATE EYE: FANGS & BRIMSTONE back on Kickstarter with its fifth issue! The latest chapter of the six-part supernatural detective series features art by Gonzalo Martínez, colors by Arthur Hesli (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and is edited by GLAAD and Eisner Award-winning Heather Antos, along with a new installment of the backup story Zombietown, illustrated by Gonzalo Ruggieri. It’s hard to overstate Osamu Tezuka’s influence on manga and anime in Japan and comic book and animation storytelling around the world. Before there was Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen, there was Tezuka’s Astro Boy: the loveable, iconic, atomic-powered robot boy. Known in Japan as Tetsuwan Atom, this loveable hero sprang fully formed from the imagination of Tezuka-sensei, AKA the “God of Manga.” Tezuka broke new ground in 1963 when he introduced Astro Boy as Japan’s first weekly animated TV program. Now, Peabody Award-winning director Jason Andrew Cohn and the Bread & Butter Films production team (Camille Servan-Schreiber, Jinko Gotoh, Glen S. Fukushima, and Roland Kelts) — will spotlight Osamu Tezuka’s life and legacy with TEZUKA! God of Manga, an all-new, feature-length documentary.

TEZUKA! God of Manga will feature interviews with legendary manga and anime creators including Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira), Riyoko Ikeda (Rose of Versaille), Naoki Urasawa (Monster), Go Nagai (Devilman), Yoshiyuki Tomino (Gundam), MADHOUSE co-founder and anime producer Masao Maruyama (Tokyo Godfathers), anime director Rintaro (Metropolis), best-selling fantasy author Ada Palmer (Too Like the Lightning), Samuel Sattin (Unico Awakening), and Jorge R. Gutierrez (The Book of Life), to discuss how Tezuka’s trailblazing influenced their work and changed the mediums of manga, comics, and animation. 

The documentary will also include in-depth conversations with scholars Helen McCarthy (The Art of Osamu Tezuka), Natsu Onoda Power (God of Comics: Osamu Tezuka and the creation of post-World War II Manga), and the dean of English-language manga scholarship, Fred Schodt (Manga! Manga!) discussing his long working relationship with Tezuka. Once the film is funded, the producers will schedule additional interviews with artists including Paul Pope (THB) and Ron Wimberly (Prince of Cats). 

Cohn and Tezuka Productions are also teaming up with some of today’s hottest manga and comic artists to create Kickstarter-exclusive collectible art prints featuring beautiful tributes to beloved Tezuka stories and characters. Fans can collect an astonishing Acetylene Lamp print by Shinichi Ishizuka (Blue Giant), striking takes on Astro Boy by Dave Baker (Mary Tyler MooreHawk) and Jorge R. Gutierrez (Book of Life), bold looks at Black Jack by Jeff Lemire (Sweet Tooth) and Yuko Shimizu (Barbed Wire Baseball), a beautiful Buddha print from Jesse Lonergan (Dome), a fantastic look at Phoenix by Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT), a pitch-perfect Princess Knight print by Elsa Charretier (November), unbelievable Unico artwork by Gurihuru (Unico Awakening, and a vibrant take on Vampires by Nicole Goux (Punk’n Heads).

Though he’s often compared to Walt Disney, Tezuka was arguably a greater cultural force. His mind-bending storylines — including Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, Princess Knight, and hundreds of others — ignited a post-war explosion of creativity that positioned Japan as a global leader in comics and animation to this day and influenced generations of creators around the world.

A moving, immersive, and visually stunning romp through comics history, TEZUKA! God of Manga unfolds in three acts, beginning with his childhood in the suburbs of Osaka in the shadow of the Pacific War. Launching from young Tezuka’s dream of creating manga and founding his own independent animation studio, the film chronicles his ascendence to becoming a national sensation and the subsequent counter-cultural backlash in the 1960s, when young manga readers gravitated away from Tezuka and toward edgier artists in the gekiga movement. The third act explores Tezuka’s remarkable comeback with enduring storylines like Phoenix and Black Jack. The film will leave viewers reflecting on a creative legacy that extends beyond Tezuka’s  dozens of television cartoons and animated films and estimated 150,000 pages of published manga. 

In addition to the art prints, the TEZUKA! God of Manga Kickstarter campaign features rare rewards and merchandise from Tezuka Productions, a collectible Blu-ray version of the documentary, and a bounty of fun treats.
