Mickey and Friends embark on the Fantastic Four’s greatest adventures with more Disney What If…? Variant Covers

Marvel Comics’ hit Disney What If? Variant Covers continue throughout this year. Following their recreations of iconic Avengers and X-Men covers, Mickey & Friends now go back to where it all began with spins on classic Fantastic Four covers. The Disney What If? Fantastic Four Homage Variant Covers will be featured monthly on issues of the current run of Fantastic Four. The new collection kicked off this week with Fantastic Four #28, and fans can see four upcoming covers to be featured on Fantastic Four #30-32.

The new batch reimagines two covers by the legendary Jack Kirby: Fantastic Four #11, the first appearance of the havoc-wreaking villain Impossible Man; and Fantastic Four #173, one of the team’s most memorable showdowns with the planet-consuming Galactus. Also included are fresh takes on Mike Wieringo’s Fantastic Four #60 cover, the start of Weiringo and Mark Waid’s acclaimed early 2000s run; and John Byrne’s Fantastic Four #282 cover, part of his influential run that saw She-Hulk join the team.

The Disney What If? Fantastic Four Homage Variant Covers coincide with a monumental year for Marvel’s First Family. On July 25, they make their highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In addition to their captivating new adventures in Ryan North’s current comic book run and the team’s pivotal role in the upcoming One World Under Doom event, Marvel Comics is celebrating this landmark event all year round with exciting variant cover programs, new collections, and more!
