In second place was Raya and the Last Dragon. The film earned an estimated $3.5 million to bring its domestic total to $28.4 million. Internationally, the film earned around $17 million over the week to bring that total to $54.2 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $82.6 million.

Tom and Jerry took third place with an estimated $2.5 million to bring that total to $37.1 million. Internationally, the film brought in about $4.8 million to bring the international total to $48.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $85.4 million.

Chaos Walking took fourth place with an estimated $1.2 million to bring its domestic total to $11.5 million. The international total lifted a little to $5,190,073. Worldwide, the film has grossed $16.7 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Courier which earned a little over $1 million to bring its domestic total to $3.5 million. The first international grosses have come in with $500,894. Worldwide, the film has earned a little under $4 million.

Wonder Woman 1984 earned an estimated $245,000 to bring its domestic total to $45.9 million. Internationally, the film added about $500,000 to its total to bring that to $120 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $165.9 million.

Initial numbers have 43 films earning $18,556,482 from 22,608 theaters. That’s a slight increase from last weekend’s 36 films which earned $17,687,643 from 22,660 theaters. The average earning was $820.79 a bit of an increase from the previous weekend’s $780.57.

Raya and the Last Dragon Takes the Weekend Box Office for the Third Week

Raya and the Last Dragon took the top of the weekend box office in a weekend where the top two remain unchanged.

Raya and the Last Dragon earned an estimated $5.2 million in its third weekend. The film has grossed $23.4 million domestically. Over the week, the film earned about $3 million at the international box office to bring that gross to $37.2 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $60.6 million.

Tom and Jerry held steady in second place grossing an estimated $3.8 million to bring its domestic total to $33.7 million after four weeks. Internationally, the film brought in about $4.8 million to bring the international total to $43.5 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $77.2 million.

In third place was a new film The Courier. The movie debuted with a little over $2 million. No international gross has been reported.

Chaos Walking fell one spot to fourth place. The film added $1.9 million to its domestic total bringing that to $9.7 million in its third week. The international total has remained steady at $5 million currently. Worldwide, the film has earned $14.7 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Croods: A New Age which earned an estimated $620,000. Domestically, the film has earned $55.2 million after 17 weeks. Internationally, the film earned about $300,000 over the week to bring that total to $104.7 million. Worldwide, the film has brought in a little over $160 million.

Initial numbers have 36 films earning $17,687,643 from 22,660 theaters. That’s a slight increase from last weekend’s 37 films which earned $17,166,311 from 20,381 theaters. The average earning was $780.57 a bit of a drop from the previous weekend’s $842.27.

Raya and the Last Dragon earned an estimated $5.5 million, a drop of 35.3%. Domestically, the film has grossed $15.8 million. Over the week, the film grossed $20.2 million at the international box office bringing its worldwide earnings to $52.6 million after two weeks.

In second place was Tom and Jerry. The film added $4.1 million to its domestic total to bring it to $28.2 million in two weeks. The film also earned about $4.4 million over the week internationally. The movie has grossed $38.7 million internationally. Worldwide, the film has brought in $66.9 million after two weekends.

Chaos Walking came in third earning $2.3 million domestically. The film has grossed $6.9 million after two weekends. The Lionsgate film also grossed $2.4 million internationally over the week to bring that total to an even $5 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $11.9 million.

Boogie came in fourth again with an estimated $730,000. Domestically, the film has grossed $2.3 million. There’s no international number so far for the Focus Features film.

Internationally, the film earned about $290,000 to bring that total to a little under $104.4 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $158.7 million.

The film also grossed about $1,000,000 over the week internationally to bring that total to $119.1 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $164.1 million.

Initial numbers have 37 films earning $17,166,311 from 20,381 theaters. That’s a large decrease from last weekend’s 31 films which earned $24,116,232 from 19,976 theaters. The average earning was $842.27 a sharp drop from the previous weekend’s $1,207.26.

Family Films Again Dominate as Raya and the Last Dragon Wins the Weekend Box Office

Family films have been a bright spot in the rough movie theater business. Raya and the Last Dragon topped the weekend box office taking in an estimated $8.6 million domestically. The film also earned an estimated $17.6 million at the international box office delivering $26.2 million worldwide. The film also debuted to be purchased on Disney+. It’s unknown currently what those numbers have returned though Disney has released some data to show off the success of their strategy, though that has been choosey as to what to release.

The film opened below Warner Bros.’ Tom and Jerry which earned $14.1 million last weekend and also had a dual release on HBO Max. What’s interesting is that film was free while Raya and the Last Dragon cost additional dollars on Disney+. Raya and the Last Dragon lost out on about 250 locations due to a dispute between Disney and Cinamark, the third-largest theater chain in North America.

In second place was Tom and Jerry, last weekend’s champ. The film added $6.6 million to its domestic total to bring it to $23 million in two weeks. The film also earned about $9.2 million over the week internationally. The movie has grossed $34.3 million internationally. Worldwide, the film has brought in $57.3 million after two weekends.

Chaos Walking is another debut film. It came in third earning $3.8 million domestically. The Lionsgate film also grossed $2.6 million internationally for a worldwide total of $6.4 million.

Boogie was also a debut and grossed $1.2 million domestically. There’s no international number so far for the Focus Features film.

Initial numbers have 31 films earning $24,116,232 from 19,976 theaters. That’s an improvement on last weekend’s 35 films which earned $20,785,270 from 18,830 theaters. The average earning was $1,207.26 an improvement on the previous weekend’s $1,103.84.
