Boston Comic Con on Hold

On Facebook, Boston Comic Con made the following post.

Due to the unfortunate events that have transpired here in Boston, a lock down has been put into effect until further notice causing the Hynes Convention Center to suspend all events. As such, The Boston Comic Con will be rescheduled to a date in the not too distant future. All people who purchased advanced tickets on line will have their tickets honored at the rescheduled show. If for some reason, you can not come to the show on that date, we will refund your ticket.

Please, we ask for your patience, understanding, and cooperation. We appreciate your loyalty, and continued support for the Boston Comic Con. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond our control.

And

For all questions concerning refunds we are speaking with Eventbrite to try and expedite the process. Please give us a day or two to get a handle on it. Thank you.

The convention was supposed to take place this weekend, but is obviously affected by the events transpiring around the Boston area. You can follow them for the latest updates.

Our Thoughts Go Out to Boston

While it’s too early to speculate, our thoughts here at Graphic Policy goes out to those in Boston, which was rocked today by two explosions at the Boston Marathon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to to the people of Boston.

The Boston Police Department has posted a list of what community members and visitors should do, included below.

  • Residents and visitors to the city are encouraged to stay calm.
  • Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the Copley Square area so as to allow law enforcement agencies to continue their investigation.
  • Family members looking for information relative to individuals possibly injured during the incident are encouraged to call (617) 635-4500.
  • Community members wanting to assist this investigation anonymously are encouraged to call the Boston Police Department’s Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS (8477) or text the word TIP to CRIME (27463). Individuals who may have been taking pictures or video are asked to share that information.
