Renegade Game Studios, in collaboration with Avalon Hill, is bringing Ikusa: Samurai Swords back to the table for the first time in over a decade with a deluxe 40th Anniversary Edition—exclusively launching on Gamefound this fall.

Known to many longtime fans as Shogun, Ikusa: Samurai Swords has been a staple of strategy gaming since its original release. Now, in honor of its 40th anniversary, Renegade is reviving the classic with all-new artwork, upgraded components, and premium production values—reimagining it as a true collector’s edition. As one of Avalon Hill’s most iconic strategy titles, this release reflects the studio’s continued focus on celebrating legacy games with premium, fan-first experiences.

In the game, players take on the role of rival warlords vying for control of feudal Japan. With armies and mercenaries at their command, each seeks to claim the ultimate title: Shogun. The 40th Anniversary Edition retains the core gameplay fans love while elevating the experience with refined visuals and deluxe components.

The Gamefound campaign will run from September 30 to October 30, offering fans exclusive access, behind-the-scenes content, sneak peeks at the components, and exciting giveaways. This edition will only be available through the Gamefound campaign and will not be offered at retail, making the upcoming campaign a must-back for collectors and longtime fans alike.

Renegade Game Studios, in collaboration with Avalon Hill, the strategy games division of Hasbro, has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign for RISK G.I. JOE: Special Missions, a bold new twist on the classic strategy game, this time set in the world of G.I. JOE.

To celebrate the launch, all backers will receive a free bonus pack featuring extra leaders for the base game, along with surprise unlocks revealed throughout the campaign. Renegade has confirmed that existing pre-orders will be honored, and those customers will also receive the bonus pack and access to all campaign-exclusive rewards.

RISK G.I. JOE: Special Missions blends the timeless tactics of RISK with the fast-paced action of G.I. JOE, featuring over 250 detailed miniatures, five unique missions, and a full-scale battle for global domination. Whether you’re a lifelong G.I. Renegade Game Studios, Avalon Hill, and Hasbro have announced the much-anticipated pre-orders for Wave 2 of Heroscape in 2024! Building upon the success of Wave 1, this new wave introduces six distinct items, each designed to enhance and diversify the Heroscape gaming experience.

Heroscape remains a beloved miniature game, celebrated for its innovative and accessible gameplay. Players can delve into strategic battles with basic and master game modes, dual-sided cards for miniatures, and the renowned interlocking and stackable 3D terrain system. Hasbro Pulse Con returns September 30 and October 1

Hasbro has announced the return of Hasbro Pulse Con 2022 on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, which promises fans one-of-a-kind experiences to celebrate the company’s iconic brands. Reaching fans in the US, Canada, UK and Germany, Hasbro Pulse Con will be livestreamed exclusively on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel.

Hasbro Pulse Con 2022 will feature engaging brand panels, exclusive content drops, over 55 new product reveals, celebrity appearances, exclusive Hasbro Pulse Premium Member opportunities, the long-awaited launch of Hasbro Selfie Series, and music from West Coast hip hop legend DJ Amen. The event will showcase content from Hasbro’s iconic brands, including Transformers, Starting Lineup, Fortnite, G.I. JOE, Power Rangers, Avalon Hill and Magic: The Gathering, along with premier collaboration brands, including Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Marvel.

Actor, influencer, artist, and entrepreneur Khleo Thomas returns to host this pop culture and fandom celebration and co-host DJ Amen will join him. The festivities will kick off with an exciting pre-show on Sept 30 at 8 a.m. PT.
