Hot Toys reveals its Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Superman figure

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Frank Miller‘s legendary graphic novel, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns with Hot Toys’ stunning new Superman 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure.

DC Comics’ influential classic redefined Batman and left a significant mark on the super hero genre. This dystopian tale presents an aging Bruce Wayne emerging from retirement to reclaim the mantle of Batman as Gotham City plunges further into chaos. Meanwhile, the Man of Steel has become a covert enforcer for the government.

Based on his imposing appearance in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, the Superman 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure expertly captures the distinctive art style of the comic series. The figure features two detailed headsculpts that bring the character to life. The first captures his stoic, authoritative expression, while the second features a battle-damaged look with clenched teeth and bloodied paint application. Both portraits are equipped with an amazing rolling eyeball design for nuanced poses, plus a specially applied UV luminous reflective effect, allowing collectors to recreate Superman’s menacing heat vision under UV light!

Standing at approximately 13.38 inches (34 cm) tall, this meticulously crafted figure boasts a newly developed muscular body that perfectly portrays Superman’s massive physique. The finely tailored costume features a blue elastic fabric suit with the iconic red and yellow Superman symbol on the chest, and a yellow belt. His red cape is embossed with the yellow Superman symbol and has embedded wire for dynamic poses. A variety of interchangeable hands are also included for even more posing options.

Superman comes with key weaponry from the comic, including a Kryptonite arrow and a damaged sonic gun. The display is completed with a specially designed stand featuring the comic series logo.

Celebrate 40 years of The Dark Knight Returns with Hot Toys!

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Frank Miller‘s legendary graphic novel, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. with Hot Toys‘ Batman (Battle Damaged Version) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns sees an aging 55 year-old Bruce Wayne emerge from a decade of self emposed retirement to reclaim the mantle of The Dark Knight in a crime-ravaged Gotham City. No longer the sleek vigilante of his youth, this brutish and battle damaged Batman fights with a new raw and relentless ferocity against the vicious street gangs of Gotham, his old nemesis, The Joker, and even a government-controlled Superman!  Miller’s Batman is an uncompromising vision of justice in a world gone mad.

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Hot Toys has unveiled the Batman (Battle Damaged Version) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure. This deluxe action figure comes with a newly developed Bruce Wayne head sculpt equipped with separate rolling eyeballs (enabling collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze) and bloody paint application that conveys the suffering of combat in this brutal version of Gotham City. 

An additional cowled head comes with three interchangeable lower face plates, allowing collectors to recreate character expressions and iconic moments straight from the pages of the comic book.

The Batman (Battle Damaged Version) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure features a specialized muscular body that is built to convey the strength and physicality of this older, battle-hardened Dark Knight. Six interchangeable gloved hands with blood paint applications support a wide range of dynamic combat poses, including newly developed battle-damaged fists, open gesturing hands, and weapon-holding hands.

The gray battle-worn Batsuit is finely tailored in elastic fabric material, complete with realistic tears and damage. A wired and weathered blue cape flows behind him, while the utility belt, forearm gauntlets, and boots all feature additional blood splatter.

The figure also comes with a separate cowl that can be attached to the body along with the unmasked Bruce Wayne head sculpt – replicating his comicbook appearance with his cowl pulled back. 

Armed for a war against crime, Batman comes equipped with four individual Batarangs, a Batarang with a rope, and a rifle. 

Scarred but unstoppable, this Battle-Damaged Batman figure stands as a powerful tribute to one of the most influential depictions of The Dark Knight.

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor Odinson returns with a more grounded presence. He wields Mjolnir with thunderous power while grappling with visions of cosmic threats, Infinity Stones, and the Avengers’ uncertain future.

Revisit the Marvel Studios masterpiece Avengers: Age of Ultron with the stunning new Thor (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure from Hot Toys. 

The limited-edition Thor (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure brilliantly captures Chris Hemsworth’s appearance in the role, with incredibly detailed textures and an adjustable rolling eyeball design for enhanced display options. The figure is further elevated by meticulously implanted long blonde hair made from a realistic wool material, expertly styled into flowing waves with braided sections and finished with hair ties.

The figure features a highly articulated muscular body with 2 sets of interchangeable arms. One pair is made of silicone and the other is a scale-armored pair made of soft vinyl — both pairs are constructed with inner metal skeletons for superb poseabilityand a seamless appearance. A selection of 10 interchangeable hands allows for a wide range of dynamic gestures, from summoning to wielding Mjolnir in battle.

Thor is outfitted in his signature Asgardian armor, featuring an undershirt, chest armor adorned with silver discs, bracers, pants with silver scale armor, and boots. His red cape has embedded bendable wire for a dramatic display.

Thor comes equipped with two versions of Mjolnir — one with enhanced pattern detailing and an electroplated finish, the other features an LED light-up function that emits blue light. Translucent blue lightning effects for both Mjolnir and Thor himself amplify the sense of divine power on display. The figure is completed with a specially designed stand featuring Bifrost scorch marks and a character nameplate.

Limited to a quantity of 3,000 units worldwide, the Thor (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure will be available to pre-order from Sideshow.com on Monday, February 23rd at 9AM (PT) while supplies last.
