Conquest: First Blood updates come out swinging with an upgraded skirmish experience and new First Blood Warband Boxes

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, has revealed upcoming updates for its skirmish playstyle, promising a more wholesome experience, and bringing strategy and action to the forefront. With updates in unit costs, adjustments to major combat actions like Charge and March, a new approach to scenarios and overall balance changes, First Blood is getting a polish like never before, elevating its gameplay experience and ensuring each mini has its role to play on the field. To celebrate these changes, new, specially designed Warband boxes are going to be released for all factions. The Warbands will include a newly conceived Quickstart Guide to help both new players and old familiarize themselves with the updated ruleset, alongside a versatile plethora of minis for the faction of one’s choice.

The new First Blood updates turn their attention to the role of units such as Brutes and Cavalry or the effectiveness of ranged units, tweaks Movement and Charge and reevaluates balance in terms of faction abilities and many of the existing models, while also addressing the nature of combat scenarios in order to promote strategy – even including a new game mode! Coupled with these updates, a new wave of First Blood Warband boxes will be released, designed to help the players familiarize themselves with the new updates, while offering an embarrassment of riches in terms of minis for each faction. With exiting updates for the rules and an abundance of minis in the new boxes, the new First Blood updates and Warband boxes promise a refreshed and enhanced experience on the table and a whole new lot of blank canvases for hobby time goodness!

Games Workshop reveals the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Skaventide pre-order and release date

In an article revealing a Warhammer: Age of Sigmar global battle to coincide with the launch of the new edition, Games Workshop has revealed the pre-order and release date as well.

Skaventide” will be available for pre-order on June 29th and will be released in stores on July 13th.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar‘s fourth edition, dubbed “Skaventide” which will see the Stormcast Eternals taking on the warped Skaven.

The global event, “The Battle for Hel Crown,” will run for three weeks after the release of the launch box.

The new edition not only features new ways to play but a packed box set:

  • 24 Stormcast Eternals Miniatures
  • 50 Skaven Miniatures
  • 4 Terrain Features
  • 2 Range Rulers
  • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Core Book

Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: New Horus Heresy and Legions Imperialis!

There’s lots to choose from in next week’s Games Workshop Pre-Orders for those that enjoy the Age of Darkness. There’s multiple new releases for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy as well as Legions Imperialis. See what you’ll be able to get below!

Shadrak Meduson, Master of the Shattered Legions survived the Drop Site Massacre and gathered what remained of his comrades to escape and fight another day. He, and his Shattered Legions, plagued the Warmaster’s forces.

Hibou Khan, Seeker of Atonement wasn’t happy with his Legion standing on the side of the Emperor and plotted to forcibly side with Horus’ Legion. Hibou Khan was eventually humbled and given the chance to atone by upping the body count of traitor’s with his two-handed power sword, Breath of the Storm.

Tybalt Marr, Captain of the 18th Company was tasked with hunting down Shadrak Meduson. He slew many members of the Shattered Legions with his weapon, the Culling Blade.

‘Little’ Horus Aximand, Captain of the 5th Company was one of the Warmaster’s most devout Captains. Aximand has a knack for surviving terrible sounds and can out-duel all but the most skilled opponent with his powered broadsword Mourn-it-all.

You can customize your force with Legiones Astartes Command Squads. Two new Command Squad boxes add squads of five Chosen in either MKVI or MKIII power armour. Each is armed with power swords and combat shields, while one hoists a large and detailed Legion banner with your choice of Loyalist or Traitor iconography. There is also a Legion Command Upgrade Set that has all of the new pieces contained in the boxes.

For Legions Imperialis comes the Legiones Astartes Battle Group. This boxed set contains a huge assortment of miniatures: four Kratos Heavy Tanks, ten Rhino transports, four Leviathan Dreadnoughts, four Deredeo Dreadnoughts, four Rapier batteries, four Tarantulas, two Command Squads, eight Tactical Legionary bases, two Terminator bases, two Assault Marine bases, four Support Legionary bases, four Contemptor Dreadnoughts, four Outrider bases, six Scimitar jetbike bases, four Javelins, and four Land Speeders.

The Legiones Astartes Predator Squadron feature either a Predator cannon or twin-linked lascannons with a choice of heavy bolters or lascannon sponsons. The box features six tanks along with a sheet of decals.

The Solar Auxilia Battle Group features two Baneblade super-heavy tanks that can alternately be built as Hellhammers, twelve Rapier batteries, four Cyclops remote bombs, twelve Tarantula sentry guns, two Legate Commander bases, eight Auxiliary bases, four Veletarii bases, four Auxiliary bases with flamers, four Charonite Ogryn bases, four Aethon Heavy Sentinels, six Dracosan transport tanks, and eight Leman Russ Strike tanks outfitted with battle cannons or Vanquisher cannons.

There’s also the Solar Auxilia Leman Russ Strike Squadron which features eight Strike tanks with the choice of battle cannon and the anti-tank Vanquisher cannon. You also get to pick between a heavy bolter or lascannon on the hull.

There’s also a whole lot of Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis models returning to the range for use in Legions Imperialis.

From Black Library comes the Sanctum Imperialis Palatine Map. This A2-sized map was originally included only with the Limited Edition release of Echoes of Eternity and is now available for all collectors, printed on cotton and presented in a classy faux-leather wrap secured with a leather cord and metal pendant.

Wanderers of the Realms eShort Subscription Week is a new week of five stores from the Mortal Realms and kicks off on June 17. Each story can be purchased separately or get all five for a reduced price.

War for the Mortal Realms get French and German Editions. The French edition of this book contains the novels Soul Wars by Josh Reynolds and Dominion by Darius Hinks, as well as the short stories Sacrosanct by C L Werner and The Fist of an Angry God by William King.

The German edition includes the above plus three interstitial stories by Black Library titled A Memory of Thunder, Waking Gods, and All Things… that tie together the different eras. Both books will be available in paperback and eBook formats.

This brand consists of more than 60 high-quality scenery products with nine categories from Ground Cover and Rocks to Accents and Water. These items are manufactured for tabletop gamers playing Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, and other military games.

There are new, pre-blended items and smaller packaging sizes that allow the gamer to spend less time at the crafting table and more time playing their miniature games. They still get the superior realistic scenery results they find with Woodland Scenics. And, knowing the quality of Woodland Scenics, this is a new line to keep an eye on.

Battlezone Fronteris Revealed for Warhammer 40,000

With War Zone: Nachmnund on the horizon, Games Workshop has revealed new scenery for games of Warhammer 40,000, Battlezone Fronteris.

These brand-new defensive structures are perfect for games delivering a more militaristic utility to existing games. The set includes STC Hab-Bunkers, a Landing Pad, Vox-Antenna, Auspex Shrine, plus a selection of stockades.

The scenery will be available as a complete battlezone as well as smaller kits.

The scenery also delivers more for campaigns set in Nachmund with terrain-specific Crusade Agendas and terrain traits which can be found in “Vigilus Alone”.

Modiphius Expands its Support for 3D Printing with New Print at Home Terrain for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare

Modiphius Entertainment is expanding its support for at-home 3D printing and has made available several new Fallout: Wasteland Warfare terrain models via their online storefront. Each product is available as a digital STL file, suitable for printing on most consumer and professional 3D resin printers. Modiphius is one of the few tabletop gaming companies that offer significant support for print-at-home, and is the only publisher doing it for licensed games such as Fallout. The latest model release consists of:

Warcradle Studios has revealed their June pre-orders and you can add to your Dystopian Wars battles or set up a castle siege!

The Batman Miniature Game Is Getting an App for iOS and Android

Knight Models has revealed an app is in development for the Batman Miniature Game. An app has been wanted by the community for some time and it looks like this app delivers everything you could want. The app will be available for free.

In development for iOS and Android, the app combines all of the character cards compatible with the third edition of Batman Miniature Game. Knight Models also announced they will update and improve character cards periodically through the app to improve balance in the game.

The Batman Miniature Game app will allow players to create lists as well as feature character cards, abilities, and weapons. Players will also be able to keep track of the wounds suffered and ammunition spent firing their weapons.

In the app you will be able to:

  • Recruit crews
  • Check character cards
  • Check/manage equipment
  • Customize objective decks
  • Fully interactive cards to read details/information
  • Access rules

With the app, there also comes a big change to the Batman Miniature Game. Releases will no longer include cards. There is now an Objective card pack. Cards will be available until they’re exhausted and then they will no longer be packed in with miniatures. Cards will still be uploaded digitally to their site so those that do like to print cards can continue to do so.

The Batman Miniature Game app is in development and will be tested by the community. No date for release has been given.

Para Bellum Wargames Teams with Turbo Dork for a Special Release

Inferno X Turboshift

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Mass Battles Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and the Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed a collaborative release with Metallic Paints specialist, Turbo Dork, coming in stores in February 2021. Called “Inferno X Turboshift”, the box contains an Inferno Automata model with 5 Turbo Dork colors.

In the unit’s lore, the steel and stone bodies of the Inferno Automata encase a raging furnace that burns the smoldering remains of a primordial beast. This demonic spirit is bound to the towering metal frame, infusing the Automaton with a cruel intellect and unfettered aggression. Steel and stone warp and buckle under the baleful influence of this infernal passenger, granting the Inferno Automata their demonic visages and cruel claws. The living, shifting hues of the Turbo Dork paints are ideal to display this concept, bringing to life this infernal model on the table.

Coming in February 2021 with an SRP of €$49, the “Inferno X Turboshift” box contains:
