Jeff Kinney Joins the Virtual Kids Love Comics Channel for Baltimore Comic Con Live

Baltimore Comic-Con is going virtual October 23-25, 2020 at BaltimoreComicConLive.Com, and once again offering the best in comics creators, panels, art, and cosplay. BCC will once again host the biggest and best kids area at any comic convention-the Kids Love Comics Pavilion, featuring comics how-to’s, crafts, and other fun activities. This event is FREE, and have announced the late addition of Jeff Kinney to the Kids Love Comics programming!

Jeff Kinney is a #1 New York Times best-selling author and a six-time Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award winner for Favorite Book for his Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Jeff has been named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World. He is also the creator of Poptropica, which was named one of Time’s 50 Best Websites. He spent his childhood in the Washington, D.C., area and moved to New England in 1995. Jeff lives with his wife and two sons in Massachusetts, where they own a bookstore, An Unlikely Story.

In Jeff’s new book The Deep End, being released the Tuesday, October 27th following the show, Greg Heffley and his family hit the road for a cross-country camping trip, ready for the adventure of a lifetime. But things take an unexpected turn, and they find themselves stranded at an RV park that isn’t exactly a summertime paradise. When the skies open up and the water starts to rise, the Heffleys wonder if they can save their vacation — or if they’re already in too deep.

Jeff will be interviewed in the Kids Love Comics Pavilion on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11am ET / 8am PT.

Spider-Man and Iron Man Bring the Battle to Walgreens!

Walgreens stores have long been the home for exclusive Marvel Minimates based on Marvel’s many animated television shows. Now, two new adversarial two-packs have hit the shelves, comprising Series 12 of the long-running series!

From Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales (a.k.a. Spy-D) takes on the Prowler, and comes with a removable mask, interchangeable web-slinging hands, a web line and two display stands. AfroComicCon a last-minute addition! Award-winning writer David F. Walker will be joining the convention for AfroComicCon which kicks off tomorrow!

David is a comic book writer, prose author, filmmaker, journalist, and educator. His comic work includes Shaft (Dynamite Entertainment), Power Man and Iron Fist (Marvel Comics), Naomi (DC Comics), The Life Of Frederick Douglass (10 Speed Press/Random House), and the Eisner Award-winning Bitter Root (Image Comics). In 2015, he wrote the novel Shaft’s Revenge, the first new novel starring private detective John Shaft in nearly 40 years, and in 2021, 10 Speed Press/Random House will release his latest work, The Black Panther Party: A Graphic Novel History.

AfroComicCon​‘s 1st virtual convention will be held on October 24, 2020. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the annual event started in 2017 by the ​Oakland Technology & Education Center (OTEC), ​will be held virtually and free through a portal on the organization’s website. Sponsored by the NNPA, the ​Oakland A’s, and Pixar Entertainment, AfroComicCon promises to be a day full of exciting panels, screenings, entertainment, gaming, cosplay and special guests. The Other History of the DC Universe Gets Stunning Covers from Marco Matarazzo and Jamal Campbell

On November 24, John Ridley, Giuseppe Cammuncoli, Andrea Cucchi, and Jose Villarubia provide comic book fans with a new and provocative perspective on the World’s Greatest Super Heroes with the launch of The Other History of the DC Universe, a five-issue bi-monthly (every other month) miniseries that presents major events from throughout DC’s history through the eyes of its heroes of color – Black Lightning, Mal and Karen Duncan, Renee Montoya, Katana and Thunder (Anissa Pierce).

This never-before-told story features breathtaking cover art by series artist Cammuncoli in collaboration with painter Marco Matarazzo, and DC superstar artist Jamal Campbell. DC has revealed two new covers for this groundbreaking series:

On sale January 26, 2021, Book Two spotlights Mal Duncan and his wife, Karen Beecher-Duncan, also known as Bumblebee. One recently revealed cover for Book Two shows Mal in his costumed identity as The Guardian, while this companion “alternate” cover shows the couple with Mal in his earlier identity as the Teen Titans’ hero, The Herald. 

Also, in celebration of Local Comic Shop Day (Wednesday, November 25, 2020), DC has produced the exclusive The Other History of the DC Universe #1 Local Comic Shop Day Edition, featuring a silver metallic ink version of the cover to Book One by Jamal Campbell.
