Anime Expo 2026: Ize Press Announces Three New Licenses

Posted on July 3, 2026 by Graphic Policy Team

During the Yen Press Industry Panel at Anime Expo, Ize Press announced the acquisition and upcoming print publication of three webcomic series: Legroom, Philomel the Fake, and Footsteps in the Snow. The English print editions of all three titles are set to release in January 2027.

Legroom

By Dacto

Gitae Song wakes up locked in a windowless room with no memory of how he got there, and with one of his legs cut off. What keeps him from thinking it’s all some feverish nightmare is Jihun Cha, the man who brings him three meals a day with a gentle smile on his face. No matter how much Gitae curses, rages, and tries to fight him, Jihun treats him with nothing but sickly sweet affection. Though it disgusts him to the core, Gitae realizes his only chance at escape is to take advantage of his captor’s infatuation with him. But one wrong move, and there’s no telling what the smiling man will do—after all, the one who cut off Gitae’s leg is Jihun himself…

Legroom is a standalone mystery BL comic that follows a protagonist with memory loss and an adorable male lead who has a few screws loose. As fragments of Gitae’s lost memories begin to surface, he must unravel the truth behind his captivity, his missing leg, and the unsettling bond growing between him and his mysterious caretaker. Set during a zombie apocalypse with an unreliable narrator, this dystopian thriller is perfect for fans of series such as Radio Storm and Manner of Death. Serialized digitally on Lezhin, Legroom blends psychological suspense, mystery, and romance into a gripping story where nothing is quite as it seems.

Philomel the Fake

Original Story by oaen

When Princess Philomel finds a mysterious novel that features herself as the villain, she’s quick to dismiss the similarities—sure, she may be a little spoiled, but she’s no evil impostor plotting the downfall of the empire! Or so she thinks, until the events written in the book start coming true, and she is forced to admit that it tells the truth, that she is what the story describes—a fake. And so begins her desperate struggle to change the future and avoid the horrific fate she suffers in the book!

Philomel the Fake is an ongoing romantasy manhwa about a neglected princess who is desperate to find where she truly belongs. Believing herself to be an impostor and counting down the days until the real princess reclaims her place, Philomel sets out to rewrite her prophesized story, uncovering secrets about her family and herself along the way. Serialized digitally on Tapas with over three million views, this dramatic fantasy comic is great for fans of reincarnation stories like Kill the Villainess and Villains Are Destined to Die.

Footsteps in the Snow

By SAISA

Blue snow falls from the sky, freezing everything it touches. In a world that has long forgotten warmth, a teenage boy named Sunwoo Seo struggles to survive. His prosthetic leg makes it even harder to walk in the deep snow, but he trudges on southward to keep a promise he made to a young girl he tragically couldn’t save. Apart from her frozen body he carries on his back, Sunwoo is all alone, until he is joined by a stranger with an oddly cheerful demeanor…and a bloody shovel in his hand.

Complete in one standalone volume, Footsteps in the Snow is a thought-provoking comic that is digitally serialized on WEBTOON with over four hundred thousand views. The story follows a teenage boy on a journey to bury his recently deceased child companion at her family home. As he travels through the snowy wasteland with his ill-fitting prosthetic leg, he encounters a religious eccentric who decides to help him achieve his goal. Together, they encounter death, hope, and the dark side of humanity in this captivating manhwa. Footsteps in the Snow is a perfect read for fans of short yet riveting comics such as Your Letter and The Horizon.
