Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!
Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find think below, and what comics you should be looking out for
Absolute Batman #20 (DC Comics) – We want to find out more about the Absolute Robins!
Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1 (DC Comics) – Barbara has been arrested by the GCPD for helping Batman and we’re weirdly excited to see what this new direction brings for the character.
Destination Kill #1 (Oni Press) – The year is 2125, and the all-powerful corporation Overcon uses its robot workers to pour our drinks and dispense our meds, all while rebuilding London’s Central City into a hyper-modern megalopolis bolted together in its own image.
Fury Of Firestorm #2 (DC Comics) – The first issue was fantastic with a great mix of art and story and we honestly have no idea what this team has coming.
Glamorella’s Daughter #6 (Literati Press) – We’ve really enjoyed this series about a superhero’s daughter who wants nothing to do with being a superhero.
Godzilla Vs. America Texas #1 (IDW Publishing) – It’s Texas, does Godzilla stand a chance?
Hidden Springs #1 (Dark Horse) – While on a retirement community field trip, a group of aging ex-Hollywood stars encounter a baby kaiju on the run from military agents. Bonding quickly with the creature, the cantankerous cadre of former celebrities have to somehow get the kaiju to safety—before it causes the end of the world!
Innards #1 (Ignition Press) – A psychological sci-fi thriller at the center of the Earth by Rob Guillory and Sam Lotfi? Yeah, we’re checking it out.
Olympus Saga Megalith #1 (Bad Idea) – The story generally feels like a kaiju story, and doesn’t break from that a bunch, but the art that has been shown off is really impressive.
Showdown #1 (Ignition Press) – Trish blames Harvey Harlowe for the death of her little brother, so Trish’s homecoming is an eye-for-an-eye mission. She’s going to kill him, and Harvey should get his affairs in order.
Space Ghost Volume 2 #11 (Dynamite Entertainment) – The series has been fantastic with a mix of one-off issues and multi-part stories. The second volume has had an intriguing villain in the background and as the series begins to wrap up this volume, we’re starting to see all of that come together.
Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1 (Marvel) – “Brand New Day” was one of the more controversial storylines for Spider-Man, so a new series taking place during it is a choice.
Ultimate Endgame #4 (Marvel) – The event that’s wrapping up the Ultimate Universe has been mixed but we’ve come this far…
Voyeur #5 (Ignition Press) – The series has been solid with a nice mix of sexy teasing and an entertaining heist. We’re getting to the heist after the build up to this point. We’re ready for the release.
