Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!
Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in
Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!
Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this week.
Arkham Horror: Terror at the End of Time #1 (Dark Horse) – The classic tabletop game comes to comics!
Cruel Universe #1 (Oni Press) – The second release in the revamped EC Comics!
The Goon: Them That Don’t Stay Dead #2 (Dark Horse) – We love the Goon. Nuff said.
The Pedestrian #1 (Magma Comix) – A strange visitor speedwalks into Summer City and silently changes the lives of its residents. But not all is quiet in this sleepy, small town-an ancient conflict linked to the secret history of street signs is brewing! Yeah, it sounds beyond weird and we’re in.
Principles of Necromancy #4 (Magma Comix) – The series has been an intriguing mix of horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and history, with some amazing art.
Red Before Black #1 (BOOM! Studios) – On a special assignment from the FBI, disgraced army veteran Val is sent to Florida to hunt down an infamous drug runner named Leo. But she soon finds that they have an unexpected enemy in common, turning the game of cat and mouse into something else entirely! Sounds like our type of comic.
Scarlett #3 (Skybound) – Skybound has been knocking it out of the park with its “Energon Universe” line of comics. This one taking place at the early stages of G.I. JOE has been awesome on the action and showing off how much of a badass Scarlett is.
Space Ghost #4 (Dynamite Entertainment) – The series has done an amazing job of updating the classic cartoon series. Great art. Great action. Great filling in the gaps and expanding the world.
Uncanny X-Men #1 (Marvel) – We want to see what the post-Krakoa age brings and this being written by Gail Simone has us excited!
Venom War #1 (Marvel) – Blood Hunt was a solid event, can Marvel go for a second solid one in a row?
