During DC FanDome, it was revealed that award-winning writer John Ridley and artist Nick Derington are teaming up for a four-issue miniseries out in January 2021.

During the panel it was revealed that this Batman is definitely not Bruce Wayne. Ridley stated:

I think it’s a pretty safe bet that if I’m writing Batman, it’s probably a little better than a 47% chance he’s going to be a person of color.

Ridley also revealed the series will focus on the family of Lucius Fox, the head of Wayne Enterprises. THe series focuses on the family secrets that are being kept from each other, a little bit of a different dynamice than the Batman we’ve always seen.
