This past weekend’s box office looked a lot like the previous weekend with The Fate of the Furious repeating in first place earning an estimated $38.7 million. The film has earned $163.6 million domestically. Internationally is where the big story is for the film where it earned $163.4 million in 65 territories this past weekend to bring it to $744.8 million. The movie in two weeks has earned $908.4 million. The film will hit the billion mark in the next week and it will debut in Japan on April 28.

The question for the film is how quickly will it pass Beauty and the Beast to become the top grossing film worldwide for the year and if it can pass the last film’s worldwide gross of $1.5 billion?

The Boss Baby repeated and came in second place earning an estimated $12.8 million to bring its domestic total to $137 million. Worldwide the film has earned $358.1 million.

In third place is this year’s top-earning film so far both domestically and internationally Beauty and the Beast. The film brought in an estimated $10 million to bring it domestic total to $471.1 million. The film opened in its final international market, Japan, where it earned an estimated $12.8 million. Worldwide the film has earned $1.1 billion.

New film Born in China debuted in fourth place where it earned $5.1 million. The film has earned $9.5 million in foreign markets bringing its total to $14.6 million.

Rounding out the top five was Going in Style which brought in $5 million domestically to bring its total to $31.8 million and $50.9 million worldwide so far.

When it comes to comic films, Smurfs: The Lost Village was #6 and earned an estimated $4.9 million.The film opened in China with an estimated $11.1 million there. That helped it cross $100 million at the foreign box office and altogether the film has earned $133.7 million.

Logan earned an estimated $950,000 to come in at #18. The film has earned $223.4 million domestically, $382.8 million for a total of $606.2 million worldwide.

Just behind Logan was Ghost in the Shell at #19 which earned an estimated $900,000. The film so far has earned $39.1 million domestically and $123.1 million at the foreign box office for a total of $162.2 million. I thought the film would cross the $200 million mark and double its budget, but it doesn’t look like that’ll happen.

Wilson continues to trickle in dollars earning about $3,000 over the past week and The LEGO Batman Movie brought in about $1.2 million over the past week.
