Mark Millar‘s Starlight has got a writer in the form of Gary Whitta. Whitta was recently hired to write one of the stand-alone Star Wars films coming out over the next few years. Fox picked up the Image comic in 2013. Simon Kinberg was named as producer, with Steve Asbell overseeing for Fox.

Starlight is part of writer Millar’s Millwarworld which ties together the various comic series he writes. It’s the story of Duke McQueen who returns back to space the world he liberated to once again save them from tyranny. The series is similar to Flash Gordon, updated with the same pulp fun.
