Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced Mad Max, a new open world, third-person action game where players become Mad Max, a lone warrior in a savage post-apocalyptic world where cars are the key to survival. The game will debut for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, the Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Scheduled for release in 2014, Mad Max will deliver dynamic, open-world gameplay where gamers fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using brutal on-ground and vehicular combat against vicious gangs of bandits. XBox One and the Potential for Dark Horse’s Halo Comics

dark horse digitalAbout a half hour has passed since the reveal of the new XBox, dubbed Xbox One. The one thing that stood out to me is the convergence of entertainment within the console. It’s no longer just a video game platform, the 360 morphed beyond that some time ago, but the next generation will take this even further.

The new console boasts seamless switching between television, movies, games and music. But what about comics? During the hour long presentation specifically mentioned Internet Explorer being available and showed its use to surf the web while watching a movie. The potential is amazing.

Stand to gain the most is Dark Horse Comics whose ability to create fantastic video game related comics netted them the Halo comic license which was announced at this year’s C2E2. Today’s announcement of a Steven Spielberg produced Halo television series puts them in an enviable position. Image watching the television show on your Xbox One and reading comic bios at the same time. Or with Xbox’s engine to suggest things you might like, after playing the numerous games in the franchise being suggested the new comic series. The integration is endless and possibilities extraordinary.

The most logical and simplest step is getting Dark Horse’s digital comics platform on Xbox Live, allowing us to read their comics on our televisions with voice and motion control.

Dark Horse doesn’t have specific plans yet as this is all in its infancy, but we’re looking at the tip of the next generation of digital comics, marketing and integration.
