Five WWE Superstars And Divas To Appear During 2015 Wizard World Philadelphia, May 7-9

StingFive popular WWE Superstars and Divas will be in attendance at Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia when Sting, Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton and WWE Diva Paige appear the pop culture extravaganza, set for May 7-10 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Reigns and Paige will appear on Thursday, May 7, greeting fans, signing autographs, posing for dual and solo photo ops and conducting a dual Q&A panel. Ziggler (who will conduct a solo Q&A panel) and Orton will attend on Friday, May 8; Sting is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, and will make a rare appearance in face paint..

It will be the first Wizard World appearance for Sting, often dubbed “The Franchise of WCW,” and one of the most recognizable and unique faces in sports-entertainment history. Although his first appearance in a WWE ring will be at WrestleMania 31 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., he remains one of the most popular and respected competitors of all-time..

Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler and Paige return to Wizard World after wildly successful appearances at previous shows.

Tennant, Piper To Appear Together At Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia

David TennantDavid Tennant, who starred as the Tenth Doctor on the long-running series Doctor Who, and Billie Piper, who was his love Rose Tyler, will make their first dual U.S. public signing and photo op appearance at Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Tennant will appear Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10; Piper will attend Sunday, May 10, only. They will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for dual and solo photo ops and conduct a Dual interactive Q&A panel. The show will also mark the second Wizard World appearance for Tennant, who was a huge hit last weekend in Raleigh, N.C., and the first for Piper.

Fans who purchase VIP admissions will be guaranteed autographs, photo ops and seating at the panel. It is unlikely general admission sales will be available.

Since his early work on local Scottish television through roles in some of the most beloved fantasy and sci-fi franchises of all time, Tennant has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of wit, warmth and humanity.

In 2005, Tennant lived out a childhood dream by being cast as the indomitable Doctor Who. Tennant’s run as the Tenth Doctor won massive praise from fans and critics alike, with the readers of Doctor Who magazine voting him “Best Doctor.” Tennant’s run as the Doctor lasted five years and made an indelible impact on the series and its appeal not only among longtime fans but converts as well. His final appearance as the Tenth Doctor was for the 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor,” a landmark event in the series’ history that brought together the series’ past, present and future.

Piper’s career started at just 15 when she became the youngest artist to ever debut at number one; since then she has gone on to become one of Britain’s most beloved and acclaimed actresses winning over audiences, critics and award panels alike, covering almost every area of performance. In 2003, she was selected to play Alison in the BBC’s adaptation of The Miller’s Tale. The show was a success and less than a year later she had landed parts in several films and BBC 2’s Bella and the Boys, a drama focusing on three residents of a children’s care home.

However, success really peaked for Billie when she was chosen to play the part of Rose Tyler. She went on to receive several awards including, “Most Popular Actress,” “Best Actress” and “Breakthrough British Talent” at numerous different ceremonies.

Gotham Star Ben McKenzie To Attend Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia and Chicago

ben mackenzieBen McKenzie, who plays the lead character “James Gordon” in the hit Fox TV show Gotham, will make his first two Wizard World Comic Con appearances in Philadelphia (May 9-10) and Chicago (August 22-23). Also well-known for his portrayals of “Officer Ben Sherman” in NBC’s Southland and, earlier, as “Ryan Atwood” in the teen favorite The O.C. on Fox, McKenzie will greet fans will sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct interactive Q&A sessions at the two flagship shows on the 2015 Wizard World calendar.

McKenzie’s appearances at the two events will be the only ones in North America in which fans can get autographs and photo ops.

In Philadelphia, he will be joined by fellow Gotham star Robin Lord Taylor, along with Penn Badgley, Karl Urban, Kelly Frye and many others at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. In Rosemont, Ill., top guests currently scheduled to attend alongside McKenzie include Norman Reedus, Toby Kebbell, and The Walking Dead duo of Michael Rooker and Seth Gilliam at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

Oh, Doctor! Matt Smith To Attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con June 20-21

Matt Smith, who recently completed an acclaimed four-year run as the 11th incarnation of the Doctor in the landmark British television series Doctor Who, will attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con on Friday evening, June 20, and all day Saturday, June 21, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Smith will join Karen Gillan, who portrayed Amy Pond, scheduled to appear on Saturday only.

Both will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct interactive Q&As. They will pose together with fans on Saturday. Times for Smith’s and Gillan’s signings, photo ops will be announced shortly.

Smith began his acting career on stage, appearing in various popular London theatrical performances before landing the coveted role in Doctor Who in 2010. He received a BAFTA Award nomination in 2011 and his final episode, on Christmas Day, was BBC America’s largest audience ever, attesting to both the popularity of the series in America and Smith’s success in the role.

The former model Gillan appeared in Series 5-7 of Doctor Who, beginning in 2010, as the new companion to the eleventh Doctor Matt Smith. The Inverness, Scotland, native has added numerous theater roles, starred in the film Not Another Happy Ending last year, is a regular on Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV and portrays the mercenary Nebula in the upcoming blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fillion and Gillan will appear on Saturday, June 21 only; Reedus will attend on Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22; Goldberg will appear on Friday evening and Saturday, June 20-21; and Lloyd is scheduled to appear Friday through Sunday.

Five WWE Stars At Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con

Wizard World has announced that two WWE Superstars, a WWE Hall of Famer and two WWE Divas will appear at Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, June 20-22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. WWE Divas The Bella Twins, WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino, WWE Superstars John Cena and Batista are scheduled to greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo ops during one of Wizard World’s flagship events.

The Bella Twins will appear on Friday, June 20, from 4:30-7 p.m.; Bruno Sammartino is set forSaturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Batista is scheduled for Saturday from 2-6 p.m.; and John Cena is slated for 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 22. Final schedules for photo ops, autographs and panel programming (the Bella Twins and Batista will conduct Q&A sessions during their respective allotted times) will be released shortly. Tickets for all events are extremely limited.

The appearances of the five follow those of other WWE stars at recent Wizard World shows, including WWE Superstars Sheamus, Randy Orton, WWE Diva AJ Lee, Big Show and others.

Academy Award Winner Whoopi Goldberg To Attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con

Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg, will make her Wizard World debut at Philadelphia Comic Con, June 20-21 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  With dozens of television and film credits, including The View, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sister Act, The Color Purple, and a wide range of talents and accomplishments, Goldberg is known to millions as an actress, comedian, host, producer, author, activist, and singer-songwriter.

Goldberg began performing at age eight in New York with the Children’s Program at the Hudson guild and the Helena Rubinstein Children’s Theatre. Her successful Broadway show led to her being cast in Stephen Spielberg’s The Color Purple, earning Goldberg the 1985 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Dramatic Motion Picture. She has also starred in such motion pictures as Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Burglar, Fatal Beauty, Clara’s Heart, Ghost, The Long Walk Home, Soapdish, and Robert Altman’s The Player.

Her TV career began with an appearance on a 1986 episode of Moonlighting, which earned her an Emmy Award nomination as Best Guest Performer in a Dramatic Series. Honored for many of her guest spots, Goldberg also earned acclaim for her recurring portrayal of the sentient bartender Guinan in Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1988-1993.

Today, in addition to her tireless humanitarian efforts on behalf of children, the homeless, human rights, substance abuse and the battle against AIDS, as well as many other worthwhile causes and charities, Goldberg has gained a fervent following as co-hostess of the daytime talk show The View.

At Philadelphia Comic Con, Goldberg will greet fans, pose for photo ops, sign autographs and conduct an interactive Q&A during the event. She will appear on Friday evening, June 20, and the full event day Saturday, June 21.
