Green Lantern: Beware My Power this July!

In Green Lantern: Beware My Power, recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart is at a crossroads in his life, one which is only complicated by receiving an extraterrestrial ring which grants him the powers of the Green Lantern of Earth. Unfortunately, the ring doesn’t come with instructions – but it does come with baggage, like a horde of interplanetary killers bent on eliminating every Green Lantern in the universe. Now, with the aid of the light-hearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange and Hawkgirl, this reluctant soldier must journey into the heart of a galactic Rann/Thanagar war and somehow succeed where all other Green Lanterns have failed.

SAG Award-winning actor Aldis Hodge (Black Adam, One Night in Miami, City on a Hill) takes the title role as John Stewart/Green Lantern, closely supported by Jimmi Simpson (Westworld, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Pachinko) as Green Arrow. Blue Beetle images take center stage today for DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery

Sufferin’ Scarabs! Silver Age Blue Beetle is back! And had he ever starred in a 1960s Saturday morning limited-animation cartoon with its own jazzy earworm of a theme song, it would have been just like this short! Welcome to the adventures of Ted Kord, alias the Blue Beetle, as he teams up with fellow Super Heroes Captain Atom, The Question and Nightshade to battle that nefarious finagler of feelings, Doctor Spectro. Blue Beetle is directed by Milo Neuman from a screenplay by Jennifer Keene based on a story by Jeremy Adams.

  • As one of the more conflicted yet effective pairings of Super Heroes, Blue Beetle and The Question must combine their individual talents to solve the mystery at hand. Matt Lanter (Timeless, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, 90210) stars as Blue Beetle alongside David Kaye (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe) as The Question.
  • Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle travels in style, skying high above traffic in The Bug. Matt Lanter (Timeless, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, 90210) stars as the voice of Blue Beetle.
  • Super Heroes Captain Atom and Nightshade make their first appearance in the DC Showcase – initially under the spell of Dr. Spectro – in the Blue Beetle animated short. Jeff Bennett (Johnny Bravo, Curious George) voices Captain Atom and Ashly Burch (The Ghost and Molly McGee) gives voice to Nightshade.
  • Dr. Spectro shows off his prize – an enormous diamond key to setting all of his nefarious plans in motion. Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) gives voice to Dr. Spectro.

It’s basically Groundhog Day in Purgatory for the Hellblazer in Constantine: The House of Mystery, the never-before-seen centerpiece of the four DC-centric animated shorts that comprise DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery.

Matt Ryan reprises his live-action and animated role as the Hellblazer himself in Constantine – The House of Mystery. In the all-new short, John Constantine wakes up in the eerie House of Mystery with no recollection of how he got there. Fortunately, Zatanna and his friends are all there. Unfortunately, they have a bad habit of turning into demons and ripping him to shreds, over and over again!  Constantine – The House of Mystery is directed by Matt Peters from a script by Ernie Altbacker.

  • Constantine never hesitates to negotiate with anyone, regardless of whether or not he has a sliver of leverage – and that’s extremely evident when he visits the cosmos to seek a release from his otherworldly prison. Matt Ryan (Constantine, Legends of Tomorrow) reprises his live-action and animated role as the Hellblazer himself in Constantine – The House of Mystery.
  • No Constantine tale would be complete without his pal Jason Blood and his rhyming alter ego, Etrigan. Ray Chase (Licorice Pizza) reprises his role from Justice League Dark: Apokolips War as Jason Blood/Etrigan.
  • There’s nothing like being popular, and Constantine knows that all too well – especially when three of the nastiest creatures – Nergal, Bellzebub & Ashox – show up to get their share of the Hellblaser’s flesh. Robin Atkin Downes (The Strain) revisits his animated role as Nergal, while Damian O’Hare (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) gives voice to Ashox and Grey Griffin (Scooby-Doo franchise) provides the voice of Beelzebub.
  • Zatanna torments Constantine in an unending number of methods in Constantine – The House of Mystery. Camilla Luddington (Grey’s Anatomy) reprises her role from Justice League Dark: Apokolips War as Zatanna.

In The Losers, the legendary rag-tag team of World War II outcasts – Captain Storm, Johnny Cloud, “Mile-a-Minute” Jones, rookie Gunner and Sarge – find themselves marooned on an uncharted island in the South Pacific that is completely overrun with dinosaurs! Their would-be ally on this deadly mission, the mysterious and beautiful Fan Long of the Chinese Security Agency, tells them their job is to rescue the scientists that have been sent to study a time/space anomaly. Perhaps… but what is her mission? The Losers is directed by Milo Neuman from a script by Tim Sheridan.

  • Somebody is watching our heroes … and probably considering a marinade. You’ll have to watch The Losers to discover what’s behind that enormous eye. The Losers is directed by Milo Neuman (LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash) from a script by Tim Sheridan (Batman: The Long Halloween).
  • Leading the rag-tag team is special agent Fan Long … and nobody but Fan Long knows what the true mission entails. Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Book of Boba Fett) leads the cast as the mysterious Fan Long.
  • Making their way through the jungle, the team hears something suspicious in the distance. The group – and the actors voicing them – includes Dean Winters (John Wick, 30 Rock) as Captain Storm, Dave B. Mitchell (Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms) as both Gunner & Sarge, Eugene Byrd (Bones, Arrow) as Mile-a-Minute Jones, and Martin Sensmeier (Westworld, The Magnificent Seven) as Johnny Cloud. And, of course, Pooch.
  • Once the secrets of the island are revealed, sheer mayhem reins the day – which is ironic given that Dean Winters, known for roles in John Wick & 30 Rock, and probably most easily recognized as an insurance company’s advertisement character Mayhem, provides the voice of Captain Storm.

Kamandi gets spotlight in new images from DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery

One of Jack Kirby’s most beloved characters comes to full-fledge animated life in Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!, one of the four shorts comprising DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery, the third compilation of Warner Bros. Animation’s DC-centric shorts.

Directed by Matt Peters (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) from a script written by Paul Giacoppo (Young Justice, Star Wars: Resistance), Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth! was initially released as a bonus feature on Justice Society: World War II in Spring 2021. Jack Kirby’s beloved DC comic creation features the last civilized teenage boy on a post-apocalyptic Earth ruled by talking animals. In this short, Kamandi and his friends Prince Tuftan of the Tiger Kingdom and humanoid mutant Ben Boxer are kidnapped by a gorilla cult dedicated to finding the reincarnation of their god, The Mighty One. Golgan, the cult’s leader, puts Kamandi’s team through a series of deadly tests to find out if any of them know the secret of The Mighty One. 

  • Ape clan leader Golgan puts Kamandi and his pals through a battery of physical tests as he attempts to ascertain who will be most fit to find the cult’s departed god, The Mighty One. Goldan is voiced by Steve Blum (Star Wars: Rebels, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto franchise).
  • Kamandi is relieved to discover another familiar face – humanoid mutant Ben Boxer – as he and Tuftan attempt to find an escape from the clutches of the ape clan. Cameron Monaghan (Gotham, Shameless, Reign of the Supermen) gives voice to Kamandi, while Tuftan is voiced by Steve Blum (Star Wars: Rebels, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto franchise) and Armen Taylor (Justice Society: World War II) provides the voice of Ben Boxer.
  • After skillfully subduing the beast, Kamandi goes on the attack atop Klik-Klak in Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!. Cameron Monaghan (Gotham, Shameless) provides the voice of Kamandi
  • Kamandi and a few of the humanoid rats get snapped up in a netting trap set by the ape clan in Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth! Cameron Monaghan (Gotham, Shameless, Reign of the Supermen) provides the voice of Kamandi.

  • The Question discovers a clue to the mystery at hand as the unlikely duo – along with a few other super pals – attempt to foil the nefarious plans of Doctor Spectro. Matt Lanter (Timeless, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, 90210) stars as Blue Beetle alongside David Kaye (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe) as The Question, and Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Dr. Spectro.
  • Everyone has their demons, but Constantine is dealing with an entire house full of them – including his beloved Zatanna – in Constantine: The House of Mystery, the lengthy anchoring animated short of the compilation set. Aquaman: King of Atlantis moves to June

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) has announced they’ve shifted the release date of the action-packed Aquaman: King of Atlantis movie to June 21, 2022.

Aquaman: King of Atlantis begins with Aquaman starting his first day on the job as king of Atlantis – and he’s got a lot of catching up to do. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up: the scholar Vulko, and Mera, the water controlling warrior princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman must rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects – and to himself – that he’s the true heir to the throne, and holder of the trident!

DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery comes to WonderCon 2022

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will host a panel spotlighting its upcoming release, DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery, at WonderCon in Anaheim on Friday, April 1 from 6:30-7:30pm in North 200A.

The panel will focus on the yet-to-be-seen Constantine: The House of Mystery extended short, while also discussing the three other animated shorts included on the upcoming release: Blue Beetle; The Losers: and Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!

Confirmed to participate on the panel is Rick Morales, supervising producer over all four of the animated shorts; Ernie Albacker, who wrote the script for Constantine: The House of Mystery; Jennifer Keene, writer of Blue Beetle; Jeremy Adams, who conceived the story of Blue Beetle; Tim Sheridan, screenwriter for The Losers: and Paul Giacoppo, writer of Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!

The panel will also include Dave B. Mitchell, who gives voice to both Gunner and Sarge in The Losers, as well as some special surprise guests.

In addition, fans will be treated to a few never-before-seen clips from Constantine: The House of Mystery, as well as some lookbacks on the other three animated shorts.

Launched in 2010, DC Showcase was originally comprised of four animated shorts: The Spectre (2/23/2010), Jonah Hex (7/27/2010), Green Arrow (9/28/2010) and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam (11/9/2010). An additional short, Catwoman (10/18/2011), was attached the following year to the release of Batman: Year One. For 2019-2020, DC Showcase returned with five shorts: Sgt. Rock (8/6/2019) Death (10/22/2019), The Phantom Stranger (3/17/2020), Adam Strange (5/19/2020), and the interactive Batman: Death in the Family (10/13/2020).

DC Showcase: Constantine – The House of Mystery will be available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray (USA $24.99 SRP; Canada $29.99 SRP) and in 4K on Digital starting May 3, 2022.

Aquaman: King of Atlantis now a feature length animated film – comes to Digital/DVD on April 26

Monstrous creatures, devious foes and incredible underwater adventures populate Aquaman: King of Atlantis, an action-packed mini-series now coming to Digital and DVD (USA $14.99 SRP; Canada $19.99 SRP) as a feature-length animated film on April 26, 2022 courtesy of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the mini-series premiered on HBO Max on October 14 to rave reviews from both critics and fans alike. James Wan (Aquaman) served as executive producer through his Atomic Monster production company on this playful reimagining of the iconic DC Super Hero and tells an original tale about Aquaman’s first adventures as King of Atlantis.

Also providing voices is Chris Jai Alex, Trevor Devall, Armen Taylor, Kaitlyn Robrock, Regi Davis, Ludi Lin, Robbie Daymond, Erica Lindbeck, Laila Berzins and Erica Ash.

Victor Courtright (ThunderCats Roar!) and Marly Halpern-Graser (Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) served as showrunners and co-executive producers. Courtright and Marly Halpern-Graser conceived the story for the mini-series/film, and Halpern-Graser, Bryan Condon (Right Now Kapow) and Laura Sreebny (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) co-wrote the teleplay. The mini-series was executive produced by James Wan (Aquaman), Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear (Annabelle Comes Home), Rob Hackett (Swamp Thing) and Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!). Keith Pakiz (ThunderCats Roar) served as director on all three episodes of the mini-series.

Catwoman: Hunted is Out Now and Get a New Look

Today’s the day! Catwoman: Hunted is now available everywhere on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray and Digital.

Home Entertainment, the feature-length, anime-style film features a stellar voice cast led by Elizabeth Gillies (Dynasty, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Vacation) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, In The Heights, Encanto) as Catwoman and Batwoman, respectively.

  • Much like her male counterpart, Batwoman never lacks access to her many bat-themed “toys” – including the batarangs. Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, In The Heights, Encanto) provides the voices of Batwoman.
  • Cats always land on their feet, but Catwoman strives never to fall at all – here seen clinging to Batwoman’s leg as the two attempt to (literally) bring down Nosferata. Zehra Fazal (Young Justice franchise) provides the voice of Nosferata, while Elizabeth Gillies (Dynasty, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Vacation) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, In The Heights, Encanto) provide the voices of Catwoman and Batwoman, respectively.
