Fan favorite icons Joel Hodgson, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater 3000 will celebrate the excitement of this incredible pop culture gathering with Shout! MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 Home Entertainment Series

The Mystery Science Theater 3000 series was created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc. After a year on KTMA TV in Minneapolis, its national broadcast life began in 1989 on the Comedy Channel (later to become Comedy Central), where it ran for seven seasons. The show’s final three seasons aired on the Sci-Fi Channel.  The premise of the series features a hapless man who is trapped by mad scientists on a satellite in space and forced to watch old B-movies of questionable worth. To keep sane, he’s built two robot sidekicks, and together they do a running commentary on the films, affectionately mocking their flaws with inspired wisecracks and acting as a demented movie theater peanut gallery. Series creator Hodgson originally played the stranded man, Joel Robinson.  When he left in 1993, series head writer Mike Nelson replaced him as the new B-movie victim Mike Nelson, and continued in the role for the rest of the show’s run.  The format proved to be popular. During its eleven years and 198 episodes (including one feature film), MST3K attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. The series won a Peabody Award in 1993, and was nominated for writing Emmys® in 1994 and 1995. (Select home entertainment releases available to own at NYCC)

August 21st sees the release of the hit animated show The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Guantlet! Season 2, Volume 4 on DVD. The show is being released by Shout! Factory in collaboration with Marvel and is priced at $14.93. The show features the voives of Ty Burrell, Jane Lynch, Michael Dorn, James Marsters, Kevin Sorbo and Stan Lee. SHOUT! FACTORY ANNOUNCES ACQUISTION OF POPULAR ENTERTAINMENT APPS VIDEO TIME MACHINE, POLITICAL TIME MACHINE AND HOLIDAY TIME MACHINE

Los Angeles – Video Time Machine, Political Time Machine and Holiday Time Machine from Original Victories, Inc. for undisclosed terms. In this deal, Shout! Factory, in partnership with entertainment industry veteran Fred Seibert, now owns all rights to these three popular entertainment apps. The announcement was made by Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; and its VTM venture partner Fred Seibert, president and executive producer of Frederator Studios.

Created by Justin Johnson, Matt Capucilli and Delbert Dean Shoopman III, Video Time Machine enables users to embark on a nostalgic multimedia trip back in time through over 25,000 curated videos dating back more than a century. With a simple, easy-to-navigate interface, users can discover and enjoy a variety of multimedia video collections by selecting a year of origin and genre category. Categories include movies, music, television, news, sports, games and advertisements.

Political Time Machine features over 2,500 political videos spanning 100 years, allowing users to watch candidate speeches from different years in their careers, along with other politically themed clips.  With Holiday Time Machine, holiday themed television content, commercials, music and animation are featured in a collection of hand-picked videos from past decades. Videos can easily be shared via Time Machine’s social media integration.

SHOUT! FACTORY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF MAJOR ACQUISITION OF HOME ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY TIMELESS MEDIA GROUP

Los Angeles, California– May 18, 2012 – Shout! Factory, a leading multi-platform entertainment company, announced that it has acquired Eugene, Oregon-based home entertainment company Timeless Media Group, Inc. for undisclosed terms. This announcement was made by Shout! Factory’s founding partners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos.

Independent home entertainment company Timeless Media Group produces and distributes a variety of video products, including Timeless Media’s award-winning military history documentaries, first-run movie titles, classic television programming, and special interest DVDs. Popular home entertainment product lines from Timeless Media Group include television and movie classics The Gene Autry Show, The Virginian, Wagon Train, Laramie, Roy Rogers: King of the Cowboys Western movies collection, Aspen: The Complete Miniseries, Once An Eagle Miniseries, Red Skelton, Snapped,  Peter Gunn, as well as over 50 best selling documentaries and other notables.

“Timeless Media Group is a great company with a rich history and has tremendous growth potential. As we’re continuing to build on the success we’ve enjoyed with our distribution and retail partners, this acquisition is a terrific business opportunity and complements our current ventures,” stated Shout! Factory’s founding partners in a joint statement.

Timeless Media Group President Norm Andersen reiterated Shout! Factory founders’ comments, “This is a great opportunity and works well for both companies. This acquisition puts Shout! Factory and Timeless Media Group in the position to pool valuable content catalogs and staff resources for greater competitiveness in the industry. This will further the strength of the Timeless Media Group brand.”

Shout! Factory will take over the distribution of more than 600 TMG titles. Timeless Media Group will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shout! Factory and will continue to release titles on a monthly basis. Key executives from Timeless Media Group will be based in Oregon. The company will utilize Shout! Factory’s marketing and sales force to support upcoming home entertainment releases from TMG.
