Ignition Press concludes the Ignition Sequence series of announcements leading up to Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) with a new series announcement. From the twisted minds of Dan Watters and Brian Level comes Mad Science Division—a madcap, sci-fi horror series that asks, “What if DOGE dismantled the SCP Foundation?”
It’s no secret Archimedes Anderson is a nepo hire. Assigned chief-coordinator of R&D at the American arm of genetic engineering and bioweapons development company Miyashi-Smith, everyone knows he’s here for one purpose: to slash the budget and trim the fat. If he can cut 30% from the unaffectionately nicknamed “Mad Science Division” budget, he’ll earn a cushy, high level job at HQ.
He goes in with a move-fast-and-break-stuff attitude, knowing absolutely nothing about the dangerous genetic experiments taking place in the division. When he upsets the delicate equilibrium of the department factions and removes guard rails which protect the workers and the public, he winds up exposing them to terrible, evil experiments.
Mad Science Division #1 will be available in comic shops November 4th, 2026 from writer Dan Watters and artist Brian Level, with colors by Lee Loughridge and letters by Frank Cvetkovic. This issue features two open-to-order covers from series artist Brian Level and Riley Rossmo, along with a 1-in-10 retailer incentive by Raúl Allén.
To guarantee a copy, make sure to contact and reserve your copy with your local comic shop by no later than Monday, September 28th. 2026.

The panel will feature an exclusive first look at upcoming projects, including new animation created for Meow Wolf Los Angeles, along with behind-the-scenes insights from the artists and creatives shaping the partnership. Attendees will also receive exclusive giveaways available only during the session.
WHERE: San Diego Comic-Con Room 25ABC San Diego Convention Center
WHO: Panelists include creative leaders from both Meow Wolf and Titmouse discussing the future of immersive entertainment, animation, and collaborative worldbuilding.
Two legendary heroines, icons in their respective genres for over half a century each, Red Sonja and Barbarella are crossing paths for the first time ever in a brand-new comic series starting this November from Dynamite Entertainment.
The She-Devil With a Sword and the Siren of the Spaceways come from two different, impossible worlds. Yet one mystery is going to unexpectedly cross both their paths and draw them together by fate. Barbarella, in all her belovedly buxom energy, is sent after a mysterious black mirror tied to her past, an object that may hold the key to a life she barely remembers. Meanwhile far away, under a blood-red sky, Red Sonja rides valiantly into danger to rescue an Oracle whose violent fate seems already written in prophecy. Neither of these daring women knows of the other’s existence, and neither understands the forces pulling them together. Science fiction and swords and sorcery clash in this new adventure. Memory, destiny, desire, and survival all carry a heavy burden and price, and some debts are paid in blood!
Rising star writer Homero Rios makes his Dynamite Debut with this historic crossover. The Mexican scribe is the perfect match, with deep experience and boundless ideas across science fiction, fantasy, and horror. To date readers have been able to catch his work across both hemispheres in both the legendary Heavy Metal and Metal Hurlant. Dynamite is proud to bring his vision to the forefront with this mainstream American debut, and pairing him with two of the most iconic characters who themselves are no stranger to these boundaries-pushing and unforgiving genres.
Joining Rios in this journey across the stars and the trails is artist Diego Yapur. Himself no stranger to the pages of Heavy Metal, he’s also known for his stunning artwork on titles including Bloodshot, The Lycan, and works starring Frank Frazetta’s creations. Fans can catch Yapur’s Dynamite debut as well as his early vision of one of this title’s stars just around the corner, with a cover for Vampirella vs. Red Sonja: Red City this August. He will be contributing covers to Red Sonja/Barbarella as well.
In addition to the covers by interior artist Diego Yapur, the series features Dynamite fan-favorite Joseph Michael Linsner, Collette Turner, as well as two photo covers by cosplayer IvyCosplay portraying each co-star. Collectors looking to chase the rarest versions of the comic and add a fun surprise to their reading experience can opt for a mystery blind bag.
Neon Ichiban has announced that comic book legend Arthur Adams will make a special Preview Night appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, signing exclusively through Neon Ichiban’s Digital Remarques platform on Wednesday, July 22, from 7:00–8:00 PM at Booth #2314. Adams appearance is courtesy of Essential Sequential.
One of the most influential artists in modern comics, Adams rose to prominence with Marvel’s groundbreaking Longshot limited series before becoming one of the industry’s defining talents on Classic X-Men, X-Men, Hulk, Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Godzilla, Vampirella, and countless iconic covers. His unmistakable style has inspired generations of artists and collectors for more than four decades.
During his exclusive one-hour appearance, Adams will digitally sign Longshot #1–6 and Classic X-Men #1 exclusively on Neon Ichiban, giving fans the opportunity to collect digitally signed editions of some of the most iconic comics of his legendary career.
Arthur Adams’ appearance marks one of the first opportunities for fans to experience a legendary comic book creator signing digital comics live at San Diego Comic-Con, bringing one of the medium’s oldest traditions into a new era of collecting.
Adams’ appearance kicks off four days of creator signings, Digital Remarques, exclusive convention offers, and panel programming at Booth #2314, where fans can experience Neon Ichiban’s latest innovations alongside creators from across the comics industry.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as Arthur Adams’ signing is expected to be one of the most anticipated events of Preview Night.
