New Pokémon Trading Card Game: Scarlet & Violet-Journey Together Expansion Coming Soon, Reintroducing Trainer’s Pokémon

The Pokémon Company International announced that the new expansion for the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game, Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, will launch March 28, 2025. First introduced in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes expansion, Trainer’s Pokémon will return to the Pokémon TCG in Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, as initially revealed during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.
 
Trainer’s Pokémon cards will showcase the special bond shared between a powerful Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon, with each card displaying the Trainer’s name. Players can also discover unique artwork featuring various Trainers in illustration rare, ultra rare, special illustration rare, and hyper rare cards. In Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, players can look forward to collecting and playing with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards, including N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex and Hop’s Zacian ex.
 
Noteworthy cards from Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together include:

  • Four Trainer’s Pokémon ex
  • 16 Pokémon ex
  • 11 illustration rare Pokémon
  • Six special illustration rare Pokémon
  • Three hyper rare gold etched cards

Players can find Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections at Pokémon Center and participating retailers worldwide. Select products from the expansion are now available for preorder at Pokémon Center in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., including the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box and the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Enhanced Booster Display Box, which includes a bonus illustration rare-style card featuring N’s Reshiram with the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together logo.
 
Pokémon TCG players will have the opportunity to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together before launch by attending one of the many Prerelease tournaments held as part of the Play! Pokémon program, taking place beginning March 15 at participating independent retailers.
 
In addition, ahead of the release of the tabletop version, Trainers will be able to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together digitally starting March 27, 2025, via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices. Players can collect and battle with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards and receive in-game bonuses when logging in to the app.

Pokémon Trading Card Game: Scarlet & Violet-Shrouded Fable Expansion Releases Today

The Pokémon Company International has released the latest expansion to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable, available beginning today at participating retailers worldwide, including Pokémon Center, the premier online destination for official Pokémon merchandise.
 
Pecharunt, originally discovered in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, makes its Pokémon TCG debut in Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable as a Darkness-type Pokémon. Players can use Pecharunt ex to switch in a Benched Darkness-type Pokémon by using its Subjugating Chains Ability. Pecharunt ex can be paired with Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex and Fezandipiti ex to unlock different play combinations.
 
In addition, parallel foil cards in Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable feature a new, unique foil pattern surrounding the card artwork. Players can identify cards in the parallel foil set by viewing the expansion code at the bottom-left corner of the card. It’s normally in a black box with white text, but in this case, it will be illustrated in a white box with black text.

The following Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable products are now available:

  • Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (exclusively at Pokémon Center in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K.): Includes 11 Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable booster packs; two copies of an illustration rare-style promo card featuring Pecharunt, with one showcasing the Pokémon Center logo; and various gameplay accessories.
  • Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable Elite Trainer Box: Includes nine Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable booster packs, one illustration rare-style promo card featuring Pecharunt and various gameplay accessories.

In addition, Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable is now digitally playable via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices. Trainers can collect and battle with Pecharunt ex, and upon log-in, the Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable Battle Pass will reward players with a new deck featuring Okidogi ex. Players can also unlock an additional premium deck featuring Charizard ex by redeeming Crystals, which are earned by completing daily quests.

Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown Debuts Stellar Tera Pokémon ex Featuring Crystal-themed Card Artwork

The Pokémon Company International has announced the next expansion in the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown, will launch beginning Sept. 13, 2024, at participating retailers around the world.
 
In Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown, players will be able to immerse themselves in the Terastal phenomenon, first seen in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, with the introduction of Stellar Tera Pokémon ex to the Pokémon TCG. Each Stellar Tera Pokémon ex will have a special stellar attack with names inspired by various gemstones, which will cost three different types of Energy to use. In addition, the upcoming expansion also features unique illustrations highlighting the brilliant crystalline qualities of the Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
 
Players can also look forward to encountering Archaludon, Hydrapple and the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos, originally discovered in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, making their official debut in the Pokémon TCG.
 
Noteworthy cards from the expansion include:

  • Three ACE SPEC rare Trainer cards
  • 10 Pokémon ex and four Stellar Tera Pokémon ex
  • 13 illustration rare Pokémon
  • Six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
  • Three hyper rare gold etched cards

Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown will be available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and special collections at Pokémon Center and participating retailers worldwide. The 2024 Pokémon North America International Championships crowned in New Orleans

The Pokémon Company International revealed new details Sunday about the 2024 Pokémon World Championships taking place August 16 to 18 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center in Honolulu. Pokémon fans who attended the 2024 Pokémon North America International Championships in New Orleans over the weekend, and those who tuned in to the official Pokémon livestream of the event, witnessed the unveiling of the Worlds-exclusive Pikachu plush and Paradise Resort promo card. Both items will be included in the Welcome Kit for qualified Worlds competitors, while the Pikachu plush will be available only at the Pokémon Center pop-up store at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.

The 2024 Pokémon NAIC gathered thousands of skilled Pokémon Trainers as they battled it out in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, and the Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE mobile games to qualify for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. After three days of intense competition in New Orleans, the following top players were crowned 2024 Pokémon North America International Champions:

The Second Chapter of the DLC for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet Launches December 14

The Pokémon Company International has announced more details about The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet video games. The Indigo Disk launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch family of systems on December 14, 2023.

The Synchro Machine
Once players progress far enough in their adventure in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, they’ll be able to use a device called the Synchro Machine to see the world through the eyes of their Pokémon. While synchronized with one of their Pokémon, they’ll be able to move around and battle wild Pokémon—a fresh new way to play the game. It appears that this device is still a prototype. Players will be able to use it once they’ve helped a scientist in the Terarium with her research.

The Power of Flight
The Legendary Pokémon Koraidon or Miraidon will gain the power to fly for the first time when Trainers take on the Elite Trial set by Amarys of the BB League Elite Four. While at first this power is believed to be only temporarily imparted, it can apparently be made permanent, allowing Koraidon and Miraidon to fly at any time—but only once players have made it far enough in their adventure. Trainers will be able to fly wherever they please with their Legendary Pokémon and enjoy the sense of freedom that only an open world can provide.

Legendary Pokémon
After completing the main story of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, Trainers can meet a curious character named Snacksworth at Blueberry Academy. By completing Blueberry Quests (BBQs) in the Terarium, Trainers can earn snacks from Snacksworth that will allow them to encounter certain Legendary Pokémon from throughout the series back in the Paldea region! He’ll also share his extensive knowledge about these Pokémon with Trainers—as well as tall tales of his own heroic encounters with them.

The Full Line-Up of Free Comic Book Day 2024 Comics Revealed

The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Retailer Selection Committee has selected forty-eight comic book titles for the industry’s most anticipated annual event to take place on Saturday, May 4, at participating comic shops worldwide.

A committee of comic shop retailers chose forty-eight titles to be available on Free Comic Book Day: twelve Gold Sponsor comics and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comics that give fans an opportunity to discover new titles and genres. This year’s selection of Silver Sponsor comics includes beloved franchises such as Star Wars, Monster High, Maleificent, Doctor Who, Street Fighter, and One Piece. Other notable Silver Sponsor titles are available from ABLAZE, Archie Comics, First Second Books, Massive Publishing and more.

The complete listing of all forty-eight FCBD titles, including the twelve Gold Sponsor and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comic books, can be found in the December issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 22.
