ComicsPRO 2026: Ande Parks and Dave Wachter Are Having Bad Thoughts in May 2026

If you ran into someone who could look into your head and see every bad thing you’ve thought or done, how much trouble would you be in? Veteran writer Ande Parks, the co-creator of Extraction, and killer artist Dave Wachter invite you to unlock a story about a terrifying new kind of hero in Bad Thoughts. As announced at the publisher’s retailer presentation at ComicsPRO’s Annual Industry Meeting, Ignition Press will publish the new series beginning May 27th, 2026.

He knows every terrible thing you’ve done. And he’s coming for you. Jack Coates can look inside your mind and see every awful thing you’ve ever thought or done. It’s painful, but it serves him very well at his private security firm that deals with difficult situations and even more heinous people. He’s a good soldier with a good team that he trusts…but he’s about to find out what happens when you put your trust in the wrong people.

Bad Thoughts #1 is available in comic shops May 27th from writer Ande Parks and artist Dave Wachter, with colors by Brad Simpson, and letters by AndWorld Design. This issue features two open-to-order covers from series artist Dave Wachter and Fernando Blanco, along with a 1-in-10 retailer incentive by the legendary Phil Hester, inked by his longtime collaborator and series writer Ande Parks.

Jonathan Hickman, Mike Del Mundo, Mike Huddleston, and Nick Spencer’s Three Worlds/Three Moons Universe arrives at Dark Horse

This summer, Jonathan Hickman, Mike del Mundo, Mike Huddleston, and Nick Spencer’s ambitious science-fiction universe, Three Worlds / Three Moons, comes to print at Dark Horse! Initially published at 3w3m.com, Three Worlds / Three Moons spans comics, graphic novels, and more. Dark Horse Comics will publish all of these stories, in comic shops and bookstores beginning July 2026. The Foundations one-shot, written by Hickman and Spencer, illustrated by del Mundo and Huddleston, and lettered by Rus Wooton, will be the first title published in the line and will set the scene for the sprawling sci-fiworld. 

Across a distant solar system and countless millennia-long cycles, a war has been fought between the forces of magic and science, and order and chaos. NYCC 2025: IDW Dark Unveils Four New Titles coming in 2026

From silent terrors to sinister hauntings, IDW Publishing’s horror imprint IDW Dark is expanding with four new comic book series​ that are guaranteed to slither under your skin and give you nightmares. Coming in 2026 are: Smile, A Quiet Place, Operation: Iron Coffin, and The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace.

Unleashing psychological supernatural scares in comic shops next February is Smile: For the Camera #1. From horror writer Hannah Rose May and artist Miriana Puglia, the frightening tale brings readers back to the year 2005 to follow a group of international models as they kick off Fashion Month in New York. They’re dying to smile for the camera, but paranoia quickly creeps in as the mysterious Smile Entity begins to stalk the group.

Invading comic stores next March is A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1 from the blockbuster creative duo of writer and layout artist Phil Hester and artist Ryan Kelly. As spine-chilling creatures create chaos around the globe and slaughter anything that makes a sound, a small island town in the midwest will struggle to survive in silence as the ferocious and seemingly unstoppable extraterrestrial terrors lurk all around them.

SDCC 2015: Ignition Press announces 16 New Creators Joining its Lineup

At its inaugural panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego (SDCC), Ignition Press announced the addition of 16 creators to its talent lineup. The list of bestselling writers, artists, and cartoonists includes Eisner, Harvey, Glyph Comics, National Cartoonists Society Reuben, and GLAAD Media Award-winners and nominees.

During the “Doing Comics Differently with Ignition Press” panel at SDCC, Ignition Press revealed that Aneke, Aaron Campbell, Mack Chater, Rob Guillory, Phil Hester, Dennis Hopeless, Tini Howard, Sam Lotfi, Shawn Martinbrough, B. Clay Moore, Ande Parks, Khary Randolph, Brahm Revel, Will Rosado, Joanne Starer, and Dave Wachter all have projects in development.

Ignition Press has previously announced creators including co-founder and Creative Director Jeremy Haun, Cullen Bunn, Si Spurrier, Leah Williams, Stephanie Williams, Jim McCann, Tim Seeley, the Miranda Brothers, Stefano Simeone, Mike Tisserand, Marika Cresta, David Baldeón, Letizia Cadonici, and Joe Eisma in their lineup. On the eve of SDCC, the publisher announced multiple Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and producer Peter Murrieta was developing a project as well. Murrieta, who was a surprise guest on the “Doing Comics Differently with Ignition Press” panel, revealed the project would be “Chicano futurism” and did a live reading of prose inspired by the project. The announced creators’ projects, which will release in 2026, include a diverse range of genres and themes and include both first time creative collaborations and the reuniting of fan favorite creative teams. Reuniting teams include Seeley and Campbell, Moore and Chater, Guillory and Lotfi, along with Starer and Randolph. The publisher also indicated that a number of creators have multiple projects in development currently. Project titles and other details will be revealed at a later date.
