VIZ Media Develops Monsuno Original Graphic Novel Series

VIZ Media continues to expand its library of original graphic novels as it announces the acquisition of the North American publishing rights for Monsuno, an epic boys action adventure where kids discover, command and battle creatures with destructive potential. A race to harness the power of Monsuno ensues between this group of heroic kids and the evil forces focused on destroying the planet. Monsuno will debut with a graphic novel, written by Brian Smith with artwork by Erwin Prasetya, delivering all new, original adventures beginning late Spring 2013 under the company’s VIZ Kids imprint. Monsuno Volume 1 is rated ‘A’ for All Ages, and will carry an MSRP of $7.99 U.S. / $9.99 CAN.

Like the animated series, the Monsuno graphic novels will follow Chase Suno and his friends as they search for Chase’s father and discover the power of Monsuno. The first adventure introduces a new villain to the Monsuno universe, and kicks off long before Chase had ever heard of Monsuno, when scientists experimented with Monsuno essence. NYCC 2012 – VIZ Media Announces Their Show Plan

VIZ Media, LLC returns to New York City for the 2012 New York Comic Con with an array of events, special booth appearances, insightful panel discussions and promotional giveaways. VIZ Media will be located in Booth 2042.

VIZ Media is bringing Masakazu Katsura, Tiger & Bunny character designer and creator of manga hits Video Girl AI, I”S, Zetman and more. Mr. Katsura will appear at a special signing session at the VIZ Media booth on Saturday, October 13th, at 4:30PM, along with Sunrise Studio Producer Yasuo Miyakawa. Mr. Katsura and Mr. Miyakawa will speak on the Tiger & Bunny: Insider’s Panel, held in at 6:30PM the same day in Room 1A23, where fans can find out what it was like to make the anime.

Folks that visit their booth can check out the VIZ Manga digital manga platform on a laptop through VIZManga.com, as well as through the VIZ Manga App for iPad, iPod touch, Android Nexus 7 tablet and Android smartphone. Fans that download the FREE VIZ Manga App will receive an exclusive full-color 27”x39” Bleach poster!

Attendees that sign-up for a Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha annual membership will receive a rare Slifer the Sky Dragon YU-GI-OH! trading card.

The Shonen Jump Alpha team will also host two additional events. A special offsite will be held on Friday, October 12th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Kinokuniya Bookstore, located at 1073 Avenue of the Americas (between 40th & 41st Streets). On Friday, October 12th, meet some of the creative staff behind the new Voltron Force original graphic novel, series writer Brian Smith and artist Jacob Chabot, at 10:30am to meet fans and sign posters. Fans can also meet the creative staff behind the recently debuted Redakai graphic novel. Writer Mike Raicht will appear at the booth on Friday October 12th at 3:30pm, and artist Zach Turner will appear at Sunday October 14th at 1:30pm to meet fans and sign posters of the graphic novel.

VIZ Media Announces Digital Debut of Barrage

VIZ Media brings Barrage to VIZManga.com and the VIZ Manga App on October 4th. Volume 1 of the action series, created by Kouhei Horikoshi, is rated ‘T’ for Teens and debuts today, the same day the graphic novel launches in Japan. Digital MSRP will be $4.99; the print edition is scheduled to debut in March 2013.

Neon Alley Debuts and Anime Won’t Ever Be the Same

VIZ Media has announced the launch of Neon Alley, a 24-hour anime channel featuring the world’s best titles (dubbed in English and uncut), exclusively on the PlayStationNetwork and the PlayStation3 (PS3) system.

Neon Alley combines the appointment viewing and joy of discovery of traditional broadcast TV with the ease of subscribing to a dedicated anime channel. Fans will find all of their favorite series alongside the best of the best new series they didn’t even know they were missing!

The channel laucnhed this week and the Neon Alley application can be downloaded from PlayStation Network. The subscription-based service will be available for $6.99 per month.  For a limited time only, a one-week free trial will be available for fans who sign up at NeonAlley.com.

Neon Alley’s schedule includes a mix of action, adventure, sci-fi, supernatural, fantasy, and horror anime, uncut and dubbed into English, and presented in HD when it’s available. NYCC 2012 – VIZ Media Announces Shonen Jump Alpha Meet-Up

VIZ Media invites manga and anime fans of all ages to join the company for a very special Shonen Jump Alpha Meet-Up, taking place Friday, October 12th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Kinokuniya Bookstore, located at 1073 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue between 40th & 41st Streets). The meet-up is FREE to attend, and coincides with VIZ Media’s appearance at the 2012 New York Comic Con taking place October 11th-14th at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. VIZ Media will be located in Booth 2042.

Making a special in-person appearance at Kinokuniya will be legendary creator and character designer Masakazu Katsura, who will meet fans and sign autographs from 7:00pm-8:00pm. A variety of door prizes will be given away, and visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of many Kinokuniya manga and anime products that will be specially discounted during the duration of the meet-up event.
