Minor Threats, the first creator-owned comic series from Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, showrunners of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K on Hulu, receives a new paperback collection in Minor Threats Volume 1: A Long End to a New Beginning. Artist Scott Hepburn, colorist Ian Herring, and letterer Nate Piekos, round out this super-creative team. The collected volume will also include pin-up artwork from Mike Mignola, Kevin Maguire, Francesco Francavilla, and Tess Fowler.

Sarah Andersen is a 30-year-old cartoonist and illustrator. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014 and currently lives in Portland, Oregon. Her semi-autobiographical comic strip, Sarah’s Scribbles, finds the humor in living as an introvert with beloved pets and the continual struggles with waking up in the morning, being productive, and dealing with social situations. She likes coffee, cats, and covens.
Ringo Award winner and Harvey and Eisner Award nominee Frank Cho launched his career as a comic strip artist at the University of Maryland-College Park student newspaper, penning University2, which was the predecessor of his creator-owned syndicated strip and comic series, Liberty Meadows. His body of work also includes Marvel Comics’ New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Shanna the She-Devil, New Ultimates, and X-Men: Schism, as well as Jungle Girl for Dynamite Entertainment. His recent work can be seen on covers from DC’s Harley Quinn.
Todd Dezago is a writer best known for his work in comics. He has written for Marvel, DC Comics, Image, Dark Horse, Scout Comics, and others. His credits include scripting the adventures of Spider-Man, X-Factor, the X-Men, the Avengers, Marvel Super Hero Squad, the Justice League, Flash, Impulse, Batman, and Young Justice. Todd co-created the high-adventure fantasy title, Tellos, with Mike Wieringo and The Perhapanauts with Craig Rousseau.
Kevin Maguire is an artist who is known for his work on Justice League International, Man Of Steel, Adventures Of Captain America, Batman Confidential, Defenders, and so many more it would just seem like bragging. You probably know him as the guy who draws goofy facial expressions. In his spare time, he enjoys yoga, IMAX films, and tweeting.
Joe Prado’s first and foremost passion is COMICS!
Joe started his career back in the early 90s working as a professional comic-book artist and illustrator on the Brazilian market. During that period, he produced hundreds of fantasy, horror, super-heroes, and sci-fi illustrations and comics for a myriad of publishers, books, and magazines.
He’s also known as the co-creator of the comic book mini-series UFO Team, with the writer Marcelo Cassaro.
In 2004, he started to produce comics for the US market. Among his credits are Action Comics, Superman, Green Lantern, Birds of Prey, Rann/Thanagar War, Teen Titans, The Warlord, Red Sonja, The Phantom, and many others.
In 2009 he began his 11-years partnership with the amazing artist, Ivan Reis on Blackest Night, which led them to Brightest Day, and then their world-renowned run on Aquaman and Justice League, all four series with the star-writer Geoff Johns.
After that, Joe worked on books such as Multiversity, Cyborg, Justice League of America, The Terrifics, Batman, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman, Geiger, Joker, Nightwing, and many others.
Joe is also the recipient of two Inkwell Awards. In 2016, he won the Inkwell Award for “Favorite Inker” and, in 2018, for “Props – Talent Who Deserves More Attention”, being nominated for the prestigious awards several times. In 2021, he became an Official Ambassador for the Inkwell Awards.
In 2020, Joe became one of the teachers of the on-line studies of the world-renowned art school, Joe Kubert School for Cartooning.
20 years ago, Joe started to work as an agent on the very first Brazilian comics agency, Art&Comics International, and that’s when he found his second biggest passion, helping artists.
Joe was also the co-founder of Chiaroscuro Studios, which he left early in 2022 to create and spearhead Prado’s Art & Design Studios, representing dozens of comic-book artists in the American and European Markets.
Jim Rugg is a writer, artist, designer, illustrator, and YouTuber. His comics include Hulk Grand Design, Street Angel, The PLAIN Janes, Afrodisiac, and Supermag. Honors include Eisner and Ignatz Awards and AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers selection. He is the co-host of YouTube’s popular comics channel — Cartoonist Kayfabe.

Joe, Skaar: Son of the Hulk, Wolverine, Ultimate Captain America, Uncanny X-Force, Thor: God of Thunder, his creator-owned Men of Wrath, Daredevil, Savage Sword of Conan, and is currently working with film legend Keanu Reeves on the comic BRZRKR, which has also been picked up for a live action film and anime series on Netflix. Ron has been nominated twice for the industry’s coveted Eisner Award for Best Artist and Best Serialized Story (Captain America) and an Inkwell nomination for BRZRKR. Ron has also worked in the film industry, notably on I Am Legend (starring Will Smith) as costume illustrator and did illustrating for Marvel’s Netflix series, Daredevil. He is also a songwriter and musician, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blackbelt and instructor, and resides in Connecticut with his wife and four children. Allen Milgrom was born March 6, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. Al graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in art and design in 1972 and moved to New York. After a year interning at DC Comics with legendary artist Murphy Anderson, Al began inking and, soon after, penciling. He’s worked on lots of comics over the years, (penciling, inking and even some writing) primarily for Marvel Comics, but he also co-created Firestorm at DC Comics and did work at Archie Comics as well as Atlas, Dark Horse, and others. He also did stints as an editor at Marvel and DC.
Married to his wife, Judy, since 1979, they have a daughter and two sons and the cutest grandson and granddaughter ever to walk the earth (of course he may be biased).
Illustrator and writer Andy Price has been the lead artist for the incredibly successful and record breaking My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic books from IDW Publishing. Andy has also done work for Storm King Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Archie Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Rittenhouse Archives, and LEGO, among others. Other licenses include Adventure Time, Quantum Leap, Dark Shadows, Betty & Veronica, and Star Trek. Andy is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School, and works in most mediums. He lives in Georgia, USA where he watches horror films, scoops cat boxes, and celebrates James T. Kirk’s birthday.
Christopher Uminga is a Connecticut-based artist who has spent his career developing a unique style that blends together creepy and cute. He has worked on several projects for DC Comics/Warner Bros, Lucasfilm, Disney, and many others. In 2022, Chris worked with DC Comics on the YA Graphic Novel Batman’s Mystery Casebook that was released in August.
Chrissie Zullo is a comic book artist, most recently creating covers for Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man, The New Fantastic Four, She-Hulk, Hulk, Thor, Silk, AXE: Judgment, Edge of Spiderverse, Wolverine, Fantastic Four, Gwenverse, and more to come! She has also designed a line of statues for DC Collectibles Artist Alley series.

This December, in honor of what would have been Stan Lee’s 100th birthday, DC is releasing Tales from Earth-6: A Celebration of Stan Lee, a commemorative one-shot anthology featuring new stories based on Lee’s (with film producer Michael Uslan) interpretations of core DC characters from his Just Imagine series of one-shots (2001-2002).

For fans that have missed individual issues of the series and want to catch up all at once, The Human Target Book One collects the first six issues of the series by Tom King and Greg Smallwood and is a great way to catch up on the series to date before the second half of the series starts in September (issue #7 on sale September 23).
During June, DC will celebrate the 68th birthday of George Pérez, one of the titans of the comic industry, with a two-page spread featuring some of his most beloved characters. Working from a layout designed by Dan Jurgens, some of the industry’s biggest names including Jim Lee, Walter Simonson, Alex Ross, Dave Gibbons, Todd McFarlane, Daniel Sampere, Jerry Ordway, Nicola Scott and many more, collaborated on the colorful spread.
In December, Pérez took to Facebook to announce that he has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. His doctors estimated he has six months to a year left, and rather than undergoing time-consuming treatment, Pérez decided to spend the time with his friends and family.
