Archie Comics goes big with “Little Archie” and “Bite Sized Archie” releases in April

Archie Comics is reviving a fan-favorite series from the archives in a hilarious modern-style reboot this April with the launch of Fun With Little Archie and Friends Special #1. The one-shot comic updates the “little” versions of Archie Andrews and the Riverdale gang who have thrilled young readers since their debut in 1956 with a star-studded collection of contemporary comics talent. Fun With Little Archie and Friends will release the same month as a graphic novel collection of the acclaimed Bite-Sized Archie web comic series for a double-helping of all-ages fun as only Archie Comics can deliver!

The Fun With Little Archie and Friends one-shot anthology features contributions by writers Shannon Watters, J. Torres, and Rotante and artists Erin Hunting, Adrian Ropp, and Agnes Garbowska in a wild fantasy story that dives into the world of video games and table top adventures. Beyond the usual fan-favorites like Little Archie, Little Jughead, Little Betty & Veronica, and Little Sabrina, an assortment of beloved characters will be making their “Little” debuts including Cheryl Blossom, Toni Topaz, Harper Lodge, and more!

The anthology will feature vibrant and energetic artwork from artists both familiar and new to Archie Comics fans, including animation veterans Adrian Ropp and Erin Hunting as well as Ringo Award-winning artist Agnes Garbowska. Archie Reveals Chilling Adventures in Sorcery #1, a New Horror Anthology

Archie Comics is continuing their horror stories under the leadership of Senior Director of Editorial, Jamie L. Rotante. As a highlight to her newly expanded role, Rotante will oversee the release of the all-new anthology Chilling Adventures in Sorcery #1 on November 3.

Chilling Adventures in Sorcery #1 is an expansion of last year’s thrilling Madam Satan one-shot by Eliot Rahal. It features Madam Satan not only trying to escape Hell, but also stepping into the role as host for a series of scary stories, paying homage to legendary television anthologies and iconic horror hosts like Rod Serling, Elvira, and Vincent Price. Madam Satan will play tour guide as readers explore the horrifying underbelly of Riverdale while the classic Archie Comics characters face their deepest fears, along with some frightful bonus content Archie horror fans will absolutely die for.

Each new circle of Hell Madam Satan enters during her escape features another horror-fueled tale starring beloved Riverdale characters and filled with fun nods to fan-favorite horror titles including The Twilight Zone, Evil Dead 2, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. In addition to Rahal returning to continue Madam Satan’s adventure, the anthology features talented work by Vincenzo Federici, Evan Stanley, Amy Chu, Derek Charm, and Pat and Tim Kennedy spearheaded by Rotante.

Archie Comics promotes Jamie L. Rotante and Ron Cacace

Archie Comics has announced the promotion of key staff members to director positions, Jamie L. Rotante and Ron Cacace.

Jamie L. Rotante has been promoted from Editor to Senior Director of Editorial. Rotante will be in charge of the editorial direction for new comics and graphic novel content, working with licensors, and more. Rotante has spent the last 11 years with the company excelling in her various roles as proofreader, editor, and author of the BETTY & VERONICA: VIXENS and SENIOR YEAR storylines, where she helped provide a unique take on the legendary characters, in addition to penning Archie’s first original graphic novel, THE BOND OF FRIENDSHIP with artist Brittney Williams. Rotante will continue to deploy her excellent attention to detail and harness her organizational skills in her new role as she plots the course for new Archie Comics content, talent, and stories throughout the rest of the company’s 80th anniversary and beyond.

Ron Cacace

Ron Cacace has been promoted from Digital Marketing Manager to Director of Publicity and Social Media. In his new role, Cacace will provide the strategy for the company’s communications, in addition to continuing to manage Archie’s social media presence, foster relationships with key digital partners such as ComiXology, organize in-person & digital events, and more. Cacace helped grow Archie’s social media presence across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram exponentially, producing news-making viral moments, crafting a unique and recognizable voice for the brand, and being hyper-attentive to the needs of the fans. Cacace is the writer of the new webcomic series Bite Sized Archie, drawn by Archie Comics Art Director Vincent Lovallo and published weekly on the brand’s social media pages.
