Zenescope’s New Series “Flying” Off Shelves

Official Press Release

ZENESCOPE’S NEW SERIES “FLYING” OFF SHELVES

Comic book and graphic novel publisher, Zenescope Entertainment, has announced that the number one issue of its newest title, FLY, has sold out of its initial 12,500 copy print run in less than one week.  Zenescope is considering a second printing in order to meet retailer demand. The comic book series is inspired by writer Raven Gregory’s very personal experience of his and his wife’s battle with drug abuse over the course of several years.  The inspiration of the comic and its characters was chronicled in a recent USA Today article written by Brian Truitt.

Reviews of “Fly” have been astounding.  USA Today writer Brian Truitt called it “an insightful tale that delves into the consequences of addiction and observes what happens when superpowers aren’t all that super.”  Newsarama’s Jeff Marsick, called Fly “Edgy and twisted” and “deliciously terrifying.” And Ain’t It Cool News encouraged comic book fans to give the series a try with the quote “One dose and you’ll be hooked.”

“We have already sold out on the distributor level and retailers are reporting sell outs as well,” stated Zenescope President Joe Brusha. “We’re going to look at how strong re-orders are for a second printing.  If the demand is there, which we think it will be, we’ll go back to print as quickly as possible.”

“Fly” follows three teenagers who gain access to a designer drug which gives them the power to fly. The drug seems too good to be true and eventually one of the teens starts to realize that it just might be. Now years later, Eddie is on the run from his past and he desperately needs to figure out a way to help his former girlfriend kick the habit before it kills them both.

FLY #2 hits stands July 13th under Diamond Previews code MAY111294. Go to Zenescope’s website at www.zenescope.com, Facebook page www.facebook.com/Zenescope and Twitter @Zenescope for more information.

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world.  Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today.   Zenescope’s licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema’s successful film franchises.
