Exclusive: Amazing Spider-Man Puzzle from Clover Press Revealed!

While Spider-Man might be known for his adventures in monthly comics, animated shows, and movies, he was also a mainstay in newspapers during the 80s. Between killer robots, Doctor Doom’s flying saucer, the rise of the Spider Brigade, and the infamous Spidey Jeans craze, the 1980s kept Peter Parker on his toes and newspaper readers glued to Stan Lee’s thrilling daily Amazing Spider-Man Comic Strip. Now, longtime fans and new readers alike can discover Spider-Man’s offbeat, thrilling adventures in four lovingly crafted softcover collections of The Amazing Spider-Man Newspaper Comic from Clover Press. This newest collection features all of the newspaper adventures from 1981 to 1984 – written by Stan Lee with art by Iron Man co-creator Larry Lieber, longtime Airboy artist Fred Kida, and renowned Transformers artist Floro Dery – this newest deluxe slipcase editions are coming soon to Kickstarter. 

Originally remastered and collected by The Library of American Comics in hardcover editions that are now largely out of print, these classic newspaper strips are highly sought after by collectors. Thanks to the success of the first Kickstarter, Clover Press is continuing to republish the series in affordable softcover editions of The Amazing Spider-Man, reprinting each strip just as readers experienced them nationwide, with the full-color Sunday pages integrated with the dailies. Each volume will measure 11″ x 8.5″ in a horizontal format and come housed in a vertical slipcase designed for protection and easy shelving. Backing this Kickstarter campaign will allow readers to get all four volumes in one bundle.

Marvel reveals Marvel Tōkon: First Strike Variant Covers and One-Shot

PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games have joined forces to deliver the latest in tag team fighters, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls! Releasing on August 6, the game drops players into an all-new Marvel Universe packed with reimagined characters and stages, a heart-pounding soundtrack, intuitive gameplay, and jaw-dropping visuals that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

To celebrate the launch, Marvel Comics is bringing the excitement of the game to comic shops with Marvel Tōkon: First Strike #1, an action-packed comic special written by Steve Orlando, Tom Waltz, Josh Trujillo and drawn by Bruno Büll, Áthila Fabbio and Ryusei Yamada. It’s the Biggest Issue in Spider-Man’s History with Amazing Spider-Man #1000

The countdown to one of the biggest milestones in comic book history officially begins! This September, Marvel Comics proudly presents the 1000th issue of Amazing Spider-Man, and is pulling out all the stops to make it one of the grandest comics it’s ever published!

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will be led by an epic story by Joe Kelly and Pepe Larraz that serves as both a culmination of their work on the title so far AND a pivotal moment that launches into the next phase of their acclaimed run! Then, the giant-size spectacular continues with special anniversary stories by an unprecedented lineup of renowned creators from legendary Spider-Man creators and modern superstars to surprise contributors! The talent includes the likes of John Romita Jr., Frank Miller, Peach Momoko, Stuart Immonen, Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Slott, J.M. DeMatteis, Patrick Gleason, Marcos Martin and, making his Marvel Comics debut, screenwriter Noah Hawley! Further details will be revealed in the weeks ahead, but fans can check out John Romita Jr.’s main cover, which unites the iconic Spidey artist with acclaimed artist Paolo Rivera for the first time, along with a variant cover by Pepe Larraz that teases the debut of the new supervillain, RAVAGE!

Marvel Celebrates Disability Pride Month with New Covers and Stories Spotlighting Misty Knight, Daredevil, and more!

This July, Marvel Comics celebrates Disability Pride Month with an all-new saga starring heroes that represent strength and empowerment for the disability community. Written by Marieke Nijkamp and drawn by Andrea Di Vito, the story will be told in special backup stories across four issues: Amazing Spider-Man #32, Uncanny X-Men #31, Fantastic Four #14, and Wolverine #24. Each issue will also feature a Disability Pride Variant Cover by one of several seminal artists: Jamie McKelvie, David Mack, Aaron Kuder, Leinil Francis Yu, and Stephen Segovia.

Intersecting with a range of different disabilities, the iconic characters spotlighted include DAREDEVIL, MISTY KNIGHT, ECHO, HAWKEYE, SILHOUETTE and FINESSE. This formidable group of heroes will come together to save Colleen Wing from a deadly threat in an action-packed story highlighting the power of community and uplifting one another.

Marvel’s Pride Variant Covers return in June. This year’s collection consists of five stunning covers of LGBTQIA+ Marvel characters drawn by Luciano Vecchio in his signature character spotlight variant cover style.

Here are the five characters featured this year:

  • Felicia Hardy, A.K.A. BLACK CAT, Marvel’s slyest and most skilled super-thief, currently starring in an acclaimed solo run by G. Willow Wilson and Gleb Melnikov.
  • Akihiro, the lethal mutant warrior and son of Wolverine, now bonded with the Spirit of Vengeance and raising hell in Inglorious X-Force by Tim Seeley and Michael Sta. Maria as HELLVERINE.
