Thor: The Dark World is already off to a strong start, earning $109.4 million this past weekend as it debuted in 36 countries. The movie debuted taking in $5.2 million from Wednesday showings and had earned $42.5 million by Friday. The movie is the fourth largest debut overseas of 203.

The movie opens up in North America this coming week. The movie also has yet to debut in China, Japan, Italy and Argentina, all large markets.
