Wizard World Raleigh Attendees to Receive The Walking Dead #1 Cover By Dean Haspiel

Dean Haspiel Walking Dead #1 CoverWizard World and Skybound, Robert Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, have announced that Billy Dogma creator Dean Haspiel has drawn the sixth in a yearlong series of Limited Edition Exclusive Variant Covers of The Walking Dead #1 comic, to be provided free to all full-price attendees at the inaugural Wizard World Comic Con Raleigh, March 13-15.

The exclusive The Walking Dead #1 edition will be produced in extremely limited quantities and is available at registration to fans at the Raleigh Convention Center only while supplies last. VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version of the comic.

Emmy award winner and Eisner Award nominee Haspiel created Billy Dogma, illustrated for HBO’s “Bored To Death,” was a Master Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, is a Yaddo fellow, a playwright of the critically acclaimed “Switch To Kill,” and the co-founder of Hang Dai Editions. Haspiel has written and drawn many superhero comic books, including The Fox, Spider-Man, Batman, X-men, The Fantastic Four, Deadpool, Godzilla, Mars Attacks , and semi-autobiographical collaborations with Harvey Pekar, Jonathan Ames, Inverna Lockpez, and Jonathan Lethem.

Stars of The Walking Dead TV series scheduled to attend Wizard World Comic Con Raleigh include Soneque Martin-Green, Sarah Wayne Callies and Addy Miller. Other top celebrities on hand include David Tennant, William Shatner, Ian Somerhalder, Tyler Hoechlin, Liam McIntyre, WWE Diva Eva Marie, John Schneider and many others.

In addition to Haspiel, Artist Alley in Raleigh will feature Shane Pierce, Arthur Suydam, Michael Golden, Sandy Jarrell, Tom DeFalco, Rob Liefeld and many others.

Wizard World Comic Con Raleigh show hours are Friday, March 13, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

David Tennant Added to Wizard World Raleigh Lineup

David TennantDavid Tennant, who starred as the “Tenth Doctor” on the long-running series Doctor Who will attend Wizard World Comic Con Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday, March 14-15 at the Raleigh Convention Cente. It marks the first Wizard World appearance for the veteran British actor.

He will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A panel. Fans who purchase VIP tickets, will be guaranteed autographs, photo ops and seating at the panel.

Since his early work on local Scottish television through roles in some of the most beloved fantasy and sci-fi franchises of all time, Tennant has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of wit, warmth and humanity.

In 2005, Tennant lived out a childhood dream by being cast as the indomitable Doctor Who. Tennant’s run as the Tenth Doctor won massive praise from fans and critics alike, with the readers of Doctor Who magazine voting him “Best Doctor.” Tennant’s run as the Doctor lasted five years and made an indelible impact on the series and its appeal not only among longtime fans but converts as well. His final appearance as the Tenth Doctor was for the 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor,” a landmark event in the series’ history that brought together the series’ past, present and future.

Tennant joins a strong lineup of stars at Wizard World Comic Con Raleigh which already includes Ian Somerhalder, William Shatner, Tyler Hoechlin, Liam McIntyre, WWE Diva Eva Marie, John Schneider and The Walking Dead stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Sarah Wayne Callies and Seth Gilliam.
