Corroney, Golden, Sayger, Banks Top Comics Creators At Wizard World Comic Con Columbus, July 29-31

Star WarsJoe Corroney (“Star Wars,” “Star Trek”), Michael Golden (“Batman,” “Spider-Man”), Stuart Sayger (“Infestation 2: 30 Days of Night,” “Machete”), Darryl Banks (“Green Lantern,” “JLA”) and Guy Gilchrist (“NANCY,” “Muppet Babies”) are among the talented comics creators scheduled to attend Wizard World Comic Con Columbus, July 29-31. Wizard World, Inc. continues its 2016 schedule with its sixth trip to the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Other superstar artists and writers populating Artist Alley at the popular event include James O’Barr (“The Crow”), Steve Geiger (“Bloodshot,” “Scion”), Tom Cook (“He-Man,” “She-Ra”), Larry Elmore (painter, “Magic: The Gathering,” “Dungeons & Dragons”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”), Daniel Leister (“Wonderland,” “Hack/Slash”), Sam Ellis (BOOM Studios, Cartoon Network), Danny Fingeroth (group editor, “Spider-Man,” author, Superman on the Couch) and Columbus native Victor Dandridge (“The Samaritan,” “Origins Unknown”).

They join a lineup of Wizard World Comic Con Columbus celebrities that includes Eliza Taylor (“The 100,” The November Man), Amy Jo Johnson (“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” “Felicity”), Ian Somerhalder (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Lost”), James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Caprica”), Jewel Staite (“Firefly”), Lindsey Morgan (“The 100,” “General Hospital”), Elizabeth Rodriguez (“Fear the Walking Dead,” “Orange is the New Black”), Kevin Sorbo (“Hercules,” “Andromeda”), Nicholas Brendon (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Criminal Minds”) and Charles Martinet (voice actor, “Mario”).

Wizard World Columbus Attendees to Receive The Walking Dead #1 Variant Cover By Stuart Sayger

'The Walking Dead #1 Stuart SaygerWizard World and Skybound, Robert Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, today announced that artist Stuart Sayger has drawn the 17th in a yearlong series of Limited Edition Exclusive Variant Covers of The Walking Dead #1 comic, to be provided free to all full-price attendees at Wizard World Comic Con Columbus, September 18-20.

The exclusive The Walking Dead #1 edition will be produced in extremely limited quantities and is available at registration to fans at the Greater Columbus Convention Center only while supplies last. VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version of the comic.

Sayger is best known for his moody atmospheric art. Recent art projects include the Superman: Man of Steel movie, as well as a video game adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s Thief of Thieves Recent comic book projects consist of various IDW projects including: The X-Files, 30-Days of Night, Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, and Bram Stoker’s Death Ship.

Toy fans may remember Stuart’s work from a two-year run drawing the “Bionicle” comic book based on the popular Lego toy line of the same name. The series was translated to eight different languages and distributed internationally boasting the largest circulation of any comic book in the world.

The Wizard World Comic Con Columbus celebrity roster includes The Walking Dead stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Emily Kinney, Ross Marquand and Michael Rooker as well as William Shatner, David Ramsey, boxing champion Mike Tyson, Dave Bautista, Karl Yune), Ralph Macchio, Brent Spiner, Adrian Paul, Lou Ferrigno and many others.

In addition to Sayger, Artist Alley in Columbus will feature Billy Martin, Rick Burchett, Harvey Tolibao, Michael Golden, Clinton Hobart, Gerhard and more.

Columbus show hours are Friday, September 18, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, September 19, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, September 20, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Boxing Champion Mike Tyson To Attend Wizard World Comic Con Columbus, September 19-20

Mike TysonMike Tyson , one of the greatest boxers of all time, the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and a pop culture phenomenon, will make his first Wizard World appearance when he attends Wizard World Comic Con Columbus on Saturday and Sunday, September 19-20. “Iron Mike,” a member of both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame, has also appeared in more than 25 movies and television shows, notably The Hangover, Rocky Balboa and Entourage.

Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, 12 of them in the first round, in the process becoming the youngest heavyweight champion of the world at age 20. His 50-6 record (2 no contests) included WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

He will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A panel at the pop culture extravaganza, Wizard World’s fifth visit to the Greater Columbus Convention Center (note that the event was formerly known as Wizard World Ohio).

Other celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World Comic Con Columbus include David Ramsey, Dave Bautista, Emily Kinney, Toby Kebbell, Sonequa Martin-Green, Karl Yune, Ralph Macchio, and Will Friedle.
