Marvel celebrates the 50th Anniversary of What If? with new One-Shots!

For 50 years, Marvel Comics has dared to ask What If?, putting bold twists on major Marvel moments and opening the floodgates to the multiverse! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original What If? series, Marvel will publish eight all-new What If…? one-shots this summer. Crafted by some of today’s biggest talents, the new one-shots shake the foundations of every corner of the Marvel mythos beginning with startling stories starring the X-Men and Thor and continuing with epic reimaginings of pivotal storylines like Secret Wars and Kraven’s Last Hunt! 

The new one-shots kick off in June with What If…? Uncanny X-Men #1, where Gerry Duggan and Jan Bazaldua put a spin on one of comics’ most tragic love stories, and What If…? Thor #1,which sees Torunn Grønbekk and Sergio Dávila shift symbiote history towards a mighty new destiny!

The Penguin, Andor, and The Last of Us rack up over a dozen 2025 Emmy Nominations each

The 2025 Emmy Nominations were announced today and it was a good year for “geek” shows with The Penguin, Andor, and The Last of Us each received double digit nominations.

Severance received the most nominations with 27 total nominations. The Penguin had the second most with 24 nominations. The Last of Us received 16 nominations and Andor received 14 nominations.

Also nominated, some with multiple nominations are: Dune: Prophecy, The Boys, Agatha All Along, House Of The Dragon, Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire, The Acolyte, Star Trek: Section 31, The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, The Umbrella Academy, Doctor Who, Secret Level, What If…?, Invincible, and Arcane.

New Heralds Rise to Serve Galactus in new What If…? One-shots!

The five-issue comic series will take readers back to the events of the franchise’s historic original sequel, Aliens, to ask the question, “What If… Carter Burke has lived?” The actor behind the 1987 film’s beloved villain, Paul Reiser, joins his son Leon and the star-studded team of writers and producers Adam F. Goldberg, Brian Volk-Weiss, and Hans Rodionoff for this pulse-pounding journey back to Hadley’s Hope and the twisted escape of a man who should have died. On art duties is Guiu Villanova, known for providing intergalactic excellence on titles like Cosmic Ghost Rider and Eternals. The saga will further explore the nature of the man who infamously betrayed Ripley and the lengths he’s willing to go to get his hands on the deadliest species in the galaxy…

For years, fans of James Cameron’s legendary Aliens questioned whether Carter Burke, a company man more hateable than the Xenomorphs themselves, had actually survived the traumatic events on the terraforming colony Hadley’s Hope. Thirty-five years later, Burke is eeking out a cursed existence on a backwater asteroid. On the chance to revisit the character’s motives, Reiser said, “For years, people have asked me about Burke, what it was like to play such a ‘bad guy,’ to which my response was always ‘You say ‘bad’, I say ‘misunderstood.’ Now the world will find out!”
