Pick of the Week – Mind MGMT #4

Matt Kindt‘s Mind MGMT by Dark Horse is an out there comic involving mind control and secretive Government agencies. The series is crazy amounts of fun that flows from the story to small details like the edges of the pages. Everything here is a package that you rarely see in comic books today. This is a great action adventure with nods to so many that have come before.  It’s very much an old-style comic done with Kindt’s amazing attention to detail. An absolute must buy with each release.

  • Mind MGMT #4 – see above.
  • Rachel Rising #10  – Terry Moore’s female fronted zombie-ish series is creepy amounts of fun as the “what’s going on” is peeled back bit by bit with each issue.
  • America’s Got Powers #3 – A popular plot this year, kids are pitted against each other to see who will make the next super team. It’s The Hunger Games meets reality relevision.
  • Invincible #94 – Wow, someone should of told me to read this series sooner. We’re heading towards the 100th issue, and with Kirkman, you know it’ll be a shocker.
  • Transformers: More Than Meets the Eyes #8 – IDW’s Transformers series’ have me nostalgic and looking forward to each new issue.

Pick of the Week – Graveyard of Empires #4

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Graveyard of Empires #4, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how this Afghanistan War/Zombie mash-up turns out. It’s been a wait, and when I saw the comic was coming out, I scratched my head and forgot we didn’t see an ending to the story, but it’s a story I’ve enjoyed the first three issues and I want to see how it’s wrapped up. For that anticipation, it’s my pick of the week.

  • Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #7I love IDW’s Transformer’s series, they can do nothing wrong. It’s great stuff that makes me jazzed about the cartoon I loved from the 80s.
  • Irresistable #1This new comic from Zenescope has me intrigued. You’ll need to read it, I don’t want to spoil it.
  • Ultimate Comics Ultimates #13Um, this is a series where I never know what to expect. The holy shit moments have piled up, and while there’s luls, the overall story keeps me on my toes.
  • New Deadwardians #5It’s zombies meets Masterpiece Theater… how can you not like it?!
