While I didn’t know Tom Spurgeon very well, the few times I met him in person he was always friendly. There was a clear enthusiasm for comics and he’s a journalist and historian we comic bloggers could look up to. This (almost) daily column was inspired by his site and his willingness to round up interesting stories, and he often linked to us. There’s a gap in comics journalism with Tom’s passing. This special “Around the Tubes” features many of the pieces from various sites honoring Tom and his impact on the industry.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
