During Anime NYC, the inaugural American Manga Awards ceremony was held at the Japan Society in New York City. The awards were launched this year and the focus is to celebrate the best manga published in North America over the past year.

VIZ Media walked away with 3 awards, Kodansha received 2, and Yen Press won 1.

• Best Translation: Stephen Kohler for Witch Hat Atelier by Kamome Shirahama, (Kodansha)
• Best Lettering: Lys Blakeslee for Witch Hat Atelier by Kamome Shirahama (Kodansha)
• Best Publication Design: Adam Grano for My Name Is Shingo by Kazuo Umezz (VIZ Media)
