The Flash and Fantastic Four team in a new DC Go! Webcomic while Thor and Shazam come to Marvel Unlimited

DC Comics and Marvel Comics are charging into the digital frontier with a bold new phase of the historic DC/Marvel crossover initiative that began with Batman/Deadpool #1 by DC and Deadpool/Batman #1 by Marvel.

The publishers today debuted two new crossover one-shot webcomics, available exclusively on DC Universe Infinite and Marvel Unlimited. DC is offering The Flash/Fantastic Four on DCUI as part of the DC GO! imprint, while Marvel is offering a Thor/Shazam! Infinity Comics story on Marvel Unlimited. Together, these webcomics kick off a new wave of DC/Marvel digital-first crossover stories. Each webcomic will be free-to-read, with registration, for 30 days before moving behind their respective paywalls, and both DC and Marvel are releasing these new stories formatted for vertical scroll.

In The Flash/Fantastic Four, available now, exclusively from DC on DC Universe Infinite, Barry Allen and the Fantastic Four tear through the Speed Force, encountering heroes and villains across time in a bid to stop Gorilla Grodd’s quest for mental domination. Written by Jeremy Adams, with art by Adrián Gutiérrez and colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr., this DC GO! webcomic is a high-speed, high-stakes DC/Marvel crossover adventure.

Marvel’s brand-new Thor/Shazam! Infinity Comics story, written by Al Ewing and drawn by Jethro Morales with a cover by Martín Cóccolo, is available now exclusively on Marvel Unlimited. The might of Thor! The power of Shazam! Marvel and DC bring the thunder to Infinity Comics in a never-before-seen adventure! When a familiar face threatens to usurp the magic of the Marvel and DC universes, will Donald Blake and Billy Batson recover their powers in time to stop them? The new Thor/Shazam! Infinity Comics story will be available on Marvel Unlimited. For a limited time, all fans can redeem a digital copy of this brand-new crossover story by using code CROSSOVER25 at Marvel.com/redeem.

Two more crossover webcomics, one from each publisher, are slated for digital-first vertical-scroll releases in 2026. Details on these webcomics will be revealed in the coming months.

Disney and WEBTOON Team for a New Digital Comics Platform

Webtoon

In a sort of surprise, Disney and WEBTOON have entered into a “non-binding term sheet” to develop a new digital comics platform that will feature current comic book runs and include decades of past comics from across Disney’s portfolio including Marvel, Star Wars, 20th Century Studios and more.

Disney also has moved to acquire a 2% equity interest in WEBTOON Entertainment. The proposed equity investment and the commercial collaboration are subject to the parties entering into definitive agreements on mutually agreeable terms and customary closing conditions.

More than 35,000 comics from Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Studios will be available in a single digital comics service with one convenient subscription, adding more stories than ever before in one location. As an expansion upon Marvel Unlimited, Marvel’s current digital comics subscription service, the new platform which will be built and operated by WEBTOON Entertainment, will provide decades of iconic comics for current Marvel Unlimited subscribers and bring in even more fans to experience storytelling from across the Disney portfolio along with a selection of WEBTOON Original stories. The new platform will include a mix of vertical and traditional formats for archived comics, current comic book runs and original stories.

As part of the Disney+ Perks program, Disney+ subscribers who want to further explore the stories behind some of their favorite franchises will be able to access a curated selection of comic titles in the new app at no additional charge.

WEBTOON Entertainment and Disney has previously announced a multi-year collaboration featuring nearly 100 reformatted classics and all-new original series tailored for WEBTOON’s vertical-scroll format.

The new digital comics platform will target a wide distribution. Select comics will also be localized for WEBTOON’S Korean and Japanese platforms.
