Sebastian, the royal family’s guard, has his sights set on Sylvie―and he’s determined to have her, no matter what it takes! Art is well aware he can beat Sebastian in battle, but he must tread carefully, as his family’s reputation with the king is at stake… not to mention he can’t go all out if he wants to keep his capabilities a secret! Itaewon Class Vol. 1 is a solid debut that reminds us a bit of Les Miserables

A single choice can completely alter one’s future―a truth no one knows more than Saeroyi Park, whose decision to stop a school bully exposes him to the harsh reality of money and power. Things go from bad to worse when his dad, who stood by him through it all, gets killed by the very same bully…and Saeroyi vows to take a life for a life. After his rash, rage-fueled murder attempt ends in a prison stint, though, a new plan kindles within him: open a restaurant, recreate the joy his father showed him, and cook up some proper revenge. And there’s no better place to do so than the neighborhood of freedom, diversity, and delicious food―Itaewon!

Sakura-Con 2024: Ize Press Licenses Semantic Error – An English Print Release of the Iconic Korean Boys Love Comic

At Sakura-Con 2024 in Seattle, WA, Ize Press announced the upcoming English print release of the Korean webcomic Semantic Error. The series stands out as one of the most celebrated works of Boys Love in the world of manhwa, one that follows the enemies-to-lovers story about two college students—the strict and logical Sangwoo and the star of the university Jaeyoung. Since the announcement of Ize Press, Semantic Error has been frequently requested by many fans and followers of the esteemed Korean comic imprint, eager to finally collect an English print edition of this iconic series that was serialized on the webcomic platform Manta.

Semantic Error

Adapted by Angy
Original Story by J. Soori

Computer science major Sangwoo Choo values reason, routine, and rules above all, so when the rest of his teammates fail to contribute to the group presentation, he doesn’t hesitate to cut everyone’s names from the project entirely—including design major Jaeyoung Jang, which ruins his plans to graduate and study abroad. Jaeyoung is more than happy to return the favor and strives to be the biggest thorn in Sangwoo’s side—but as they spend more time together, a strange attraction begins to develop between them… Will Sangwoo be able to debug this semantic error from his life?

With Angy’s incredible use of color and J. Soori’s masterful character development, Semantic Error is a must-read for Boys Love fans looking for an opposites-attract story with great pacing and delicious chemistry. It is a fun yet mature story that focuses on the complicated emotions that come with falling for someone unexpectedly. The tension between its characters is wonderfully complemented by the depth of their self-reflection. They learn more about themselves through their interactions and growing feelings, which leads to the intimacy and vulnerability that have delighted readers worldwide.

The popularity of the webcomic led to two media adaptations—a four-episode series of animated shorts released in 2021 and a live-action Korean drama released in 2022. The live-action drama and the actors who portrayed its iconic characters went on to win several awards in Korea from reputable organizations, such as the Grand Bell Awards, Blue Dragon Series Awards, and APAN Star Awards. Boys Love has risen to become one of the most popular genres in the world of media, and Semantic Error has become one of the most beloved works among its many diehard fans.

The on-sale date of the English print edition of Semantic Error will be announced at a later date on the Ize Press social media pages.

NCT 127 Reveals the NINE Variant Covers for Limitless

Z2 ComicsSM Entertainment, and Universal Music Group present Limitless, the new graphic novel from K-Pop megastars NCT 127, and the very first officially licensed K-Pop print graphic novel. The comic introduces a brand new fictional chapter into the lives of all nine members of the global phenomenon. Limitless is available in standard hardcover and deluxe hardcover editions, set to release in summer 2024. The graphic novel is co-written by Reiko Scott with art by Ziyan Qiu and Ana Jimenez. Kayla Felty and colorist Megan Huang are the cover artists. The standard hardcover will come with nine variant covers, each featuring members of NCT 127. The deluxe hardcover will come with nine art prints illustrated by Kayla Felty and a certificate of authenticity.

Presented in the manhwa (South Korean comic) format, Limitless follows NCT 127 in the midst of their world tour, as the group rehearses for its biggest performance in America to date: a sold-out stadium show in New York City. The night before the concert, however, the group encounters mysterious dreams, putting Mar, Johnny, Taeyong, Jungwoo, and Doyoung in otherworldly scenarios. This ultimately creates a reality-crossing mystery that the five—alongside Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan—will unite to solve. As NCT 127 grapples with this enigma, they must overcome their fear in both the real world and this new, surreal dreamscape.

The Uncanny Counter Vol. 1 has an interesting concept but there’s small issues that add up

The word in town is that the broth at the local noodle house is to die for. The secret? The people who run the shop were on the brink of death! They call themselves COUNTERS and have partnered with ghosts from the afterlife to hunt down rogue spirits. When ordinary high schooler Mun is invited to join them, his whole life flips upside down. Can his new job of fighting evil and chopping noodles give him the answers to his parents’ mysterious deaths all those years ago?
